*SAMPLE SALE* Cable Vision

My, oh my. What a week this has been. Starting with the Hanky Panky sample sale on Monday, followed by the Laura Mercier and Zadig & Voltaire sales on Tuesday, then The Row sample sale yesterday, this week was replete with bargain events. So, to end this special discount shopping week with a bang (and some sparkles) I present for your inspection the full Mizhattan report from inside the David Yurman sample sale which began late in the afternoon yesterday. As always, the Altman Building in Chelsea hosted the event and their showroom was transformed into a jewelry paradise filled with David Yurman's signature cables as well as other covetable precious metal pieces. Come join me!

If you're a big fan of David Yurman's designs, this is the sale for you. Discounts were divided into 4 groups: 40% off, 50% off, 60% off, and price as marked. Items in the 60% off category included sunglasses, pendants, and chain bracelets. Most of the jewelry in the 40% off grouping were 18K gold while watches and sterling silver pieces were 50% off.

I'm sure most of you are curious about the company's signature pieces so let's start from there. David Yurman's classic cable bracelets were selling like hotcakes and were available in both gold and silver. Every single item was individually priced in this category so I cannot give you prices on all the merchandise but let me give you a rough estimate. Classic cable bracelets in silver ranged around $300~$1,200. Gold cables, on the other hand, were priced higher (of course) at roughly $1,770~$3,000.

Other than the cable bracelets I mentioned above, the sale included many different styles of earrings, necklaces, and rings to sparkle up your look. A pair of blue topaz stud earrings I spotted were $600, amethyst drop earrings were $437.50, woven cable earrings were $1,250, sculpted large hoop earrings were $2,250, and chain triple-drop pearl earrings were $237.50.

As a final note, I would like to mention this fall's David Yurman sample sale included many jewelry pieces that are currently being sold online for full price. Therefore, I suggest doing a quick browse before you head over to the Altman Building to shop. Just make sure to stop by before the sale ends on Sunday. Happy Shopping!

  1. The sale wasn't as packed as the last sale. Then I had to sandwich myself between two ladies who wouldn't budge. At least I was able to purchase a cable this time. Your reviews are always appreciated. Thank you Miz.
