*SAMPLE SALE* Pierre de Résistance

Debuted in Spring/Summer '12, Pierre Balmain is the youthful little sister to iconic French label Balmain. With prices leaning towards being wallet-friendly, Pierre Balmain carries the same decadent rock-chic glamour and tough-luxe staples that the main line is known for. The folks at CP Fashion Group gave me early access to this week's Pierre Balmain sample sale and I was able to preview a large selection of edgy chic pieces at markdowns of up to 70% off. So, let's have a look, shall we?!

From stylishly rebellious motorcycle jackets to bold leopard prints & studded embellishments, the showroom for this week's Pierre Balmain sample sale was neatly organized and prepped for tomorrow's wave of shoppers. Since coat season is upon us, I started my browsing in the outerwear section. Here, I found a nice variety of cover-ups consisting of shearling jackets, double-breasted wool coats, and military-inspired jackets. As for prices, I spotted a navy wool biker jacket for $873 (originally $2,910) and a tomato red belted coat for $405 (originally $1,350 & photo above).

Other RTW pieces included a tailored jacquard jacket for $459 (originally $1,530 & 5th photo below), an embellished yellow leather dress for $1,179 (originally $3,930 & 4th photo below), a cheetah print blouse for $153, (originally $510 & 1st photo below), a brocade cocktail frock for $162 (originally $540 & 2nd photo below), a red animal print T-shirt for $99 (originally $158 & 6th photo below), and a tiger print sleeveless top for $135 (originally $450 & 9th photo below). If you're in the market for something casual, I found lots of chic denims. Prices on jeans ranged from $99 to $216--a good deal in my book.

In the shoe section, you'll find a modest selection of footwear. The black clothed table held a collection of stylish shoes comprised of boots, ballet flats, pumps, and sandals. A pair of gemstone & feather embellished stilettos immediately caught my eye (17th photo below). They were priced $270 (originally $900). I also saw basic styles such as black patent ballet flats priced $189 (originally $630), pointy toe mid calf booties priced $260 (originally $866), snake print embossed pointy pumps priced $270 (originally $900), and multi-strap studded sandals priced $270 (originally $900 & 18th photo below). Sizes were very limited. If you're particularly interested in shopping for shoes tomorrow, I suggest making a trip to the CP Fashion Group showroom an early morning priority.

For handbag lovers, you'll be happy to know that clutches, leather shoppers, shoulder flaps, hobos, satchels, and totes were also at hand. An oversized leather clutch in black was $162 (originally $540) and a studded leather shopper was $477 (originally $1,590 & last photo).

Though I didn't have time to browse the men's section fully, I will note that there were tons of items (coats, jackets, sweaters, and shoes) available. Also, as a footnote, there were other European designer labels like Cavalli and such at clearance prices for both women & men. So, make sure to peruse those racks while you're there.

This week's Pierre Balmain sample sale officially kicks off tomorrow at 10am and will run through Sunday. As for further markdown, I will make sure to let you know later this week if/when it happens.

  2. You think $216 is a good deal on a pair of jeans at a sample sale. What are you smoking?

    1. Considering they were marked down from $550, I thought they were reasonable. Sorry I forgot to mention the original price.
