  3. can anyone tell me about the line for the Bvlgari sale? thanks!

  4. Miz twitted that 40 were inside and 30 were outside about 40 minutes ago. Interested to know how the selection and pricing looks.

  5. Bulgari sale is mostly what's left from previous sample sales. Perfumes/colognes are way more expensive than previous sales ($40 for a single big bottle). Not worth if you have to wait in line. I would skip.

  6. Did anyone go the the Costume National sale? What are the discounts? Thanks!!

  7. Has anyone been to the Asics sale? How are the deals/inventory?

  8. I went to the Asics sale during lunch today. Ample crowds of both men and women, but managable and the line was only 5 or so people long outside. There was a ton of merchandise, but prices were so-so in my opinion. 2 long rows of men's clothing - I saw tanks, tees, long sleeve shirts, shorts, running tights, and some shoes. Way more women's merchandise - tanks were $14,99, sports bras were $24.99, tees were $19.99, shorts were closer to $39.99, jackets were $49.99+. There were a lot of options and it was well organized, but smaller sizes were going quickly (only 3-4 small/medium sports bras, out of sml/medium capris, etc). Decent amount of women's shoes, but only a handful of styles (great if you know what you like already). String bags were $9.99, pack of socks were $5, and there were tons of more expensive duffle bags too. Lots of merchandise branded from outdated races (old NY marathons etc). I was disappointed that some of the shirts I wanted were priced with no discount ($29.99 for a long sleeve running shirt with a $30 retail tag on it). Worth checking out if you're an Asics fan, but I wasn't blown away. Happy shopping! - Kathleen

Thank you so much for such an in-depth review. Really appreciate it!

  9. Is Jill Stuart her main line or the Jill Jill Stuart? Racked seems to think it's the latter...

  11. Has anybody gone to Under Armour? I was thinking of going on Thursday for jackets but it is a little out of the road and wanted to know if it is worth it.

    1. I went yesterday and was told by building management that it was a private sale for employees of the building only... major waste of time and a long walk into the middle of nowhere

    2. Thanks for the response. Yes, Far West Chelsea is difficult to get to so I will avoid unless somebody informs different.

    3. The Under Armour sample sale is not an employee sale. It is open to the public. However, I heard from readers that the sale isn't as good as the ones held at 260.

      Delete
    4. The UA sample sale only opens to those who work in the building and you need to swipe into the building, so I don't think you will be able to sneak in.

    5. Just like any sample sale at the Starrlett Lehigh building, you just mention to security that you're there for a sale and they will swipe you in.

    2. I went today as well to Under Armour. It's only for employees of building. However, you can go to Aubrey Sale on the third floor and walk down. However, Under Armour is not worth going to. It's 50% off MSRP and the selection is minimal and not high quality. You have better selection and prices at outlet centers.

The Aubrey sale has cute items though. My coworker bought a gorgeous wool scarf for $100.

    3. I also meant to say that Under Armour is not much of a sale as I think it was a thing to get people of the building to join their gym. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. Mizhattan - I recommend you take the Under Armour Sale off your site as it's really not a sale but a sales pitch for the building's gym. Thanks so much for your input as always.

    1. I headed over to the Furla sale once I was done with Vivienne Westwood. Got there about half an hour before it started, so total wait time was about an hour. It was badly organized. Only one of the elevators was working, and they were letting 10 people in at a time, which made the line upstairs extra long too (but I think they were letting more people in around 1pm, once they figured out how many people were waiting downstairs too). Most of the people that got in the sale first were people that worked in that building. They skipped the queue downstairs, which I felt was really unfair. And they were buying up 10-20 bags at a time.

Having said that, the selection was still pretty good by the time I got in. I got a candy bag that's on sale at the store for $178 for just $50, and two more wallets, one at $35 and one at $60 (not all the wallets are made in Italy, so you may want to double check). Overall, it was a good sale for me, but I probably lucked out because I got there early and didn't have to queue up for long.

    2. Thank you for the update! Nice score on the bag and wallets. Hope you enjoy them!

  19. I wasted a lot of time in the Furla line but didn't go into the sale. I got there around 1:20pm, waited about an hour in line. I was finally let into the elevators to go upstairs. Once upstairs, I see another line that I was told would be about 45 minutes? I ended up leaving at that point. The few people I saw leaving had large shopping bags filled with purses. So I thought the selection once I did get into the sale wouldn't be great anyway. And since I only saw a few people walking out during my hour-long wait in line, I think the line to check out was horrendous. If you go now, it might not be a bad wait, since there weren't too many people waiting behind me. But I'm not sure the selection would be worth it. I was told there is no restocking.

    1. I'm sorry to hear you spent so much time in line and didn't come away with any goodies. Thank you for the update!

    2. Oh you should have waited. Who told you that it'll be an additional 45 minutes once upstairs? That person is so wrong! Yes, there is still a line, but I only had to wait about 20 minutes or so. They were letting people in 10 at a time, and I believe there's less than 30 people upstairs. Sorry to hear about your experience.

      Delete
    3. I didn't mind too much that I didn't stick it out and wait to get inside the sale. A person leaving the sale while I was in line said she thinks she got the last soft leather bag, and that's the kind of bag I was looking for. I didn't want to wait much longer on the off-chance that there were some left in the sale. When I got upstairs, the people who had gone upstairs 10-15 minutes before me were still in line, with around 10 people in front of them.

What was frustrating was that the line downstairs and the line upstairs weren't very long. It just moved at an incredibly slow pace. From seeing another shopper's comments here, I'm wondering if this was because employees in the building were going upstairs and getting in line without waiting downstairs with the rest of the shoppers. The time when I was in line was lunchtime, and the employees in the building could have used their lunch hour to shop the sale. This would also explain why those of us in line downstairs saw only 1 or 2 people leaving the building after exiting the sale. This seems incredibly unfair and a waste of time for those of us who had to wait an extra hour or so downstairs while the employees in the building got the best pick of the sale's selection. I can't imagine I'd go back to another one of Furla's sales as long as they hold it in their offices in this manner.

  23. I just came from the MCM sample sale. Yes there were people hoarding the merchandise. Backpacks were 30%off sneakers men and women 50% off retail. I purchased 2 messenger bags at 50% off in the tan color, a round mini canteen bag 50% off retail. There were jackets, vests dresses didn't check prices. No wallets, backpack keychains gone, credit card cases gone. overnight or weekeneder bags are available. Belts available. They will be restocking but for same merchandise but I do not believe not much for handbags. Plenty of totes 30% off. I waited an hour to get in you must check handbags and coats. 15 people in at a time.

  24. I went Sunday and have to say it was not as bad as I thought. I read the Racked review from Friday and was very disappointed. I was looking for a wallet to match a backpack I bought at the Soho store fro $750 plus taxes but this time wanted to spend less obviously. I got to the sale at 9:00am (2nd on line) and I got a wallet for $25. A phone case for $10 and the matching sneakers for my backpack for $120. I read in the review from Racked that sneakers were 30% on Friday making them around $350. I did find good items. I also found the reversible tote that Bloomingdale has for $715 now for $350. I'm sure Monday they dropped the prices a lot more. I was there for about an hour and they brought down the price of two bags during that time. To each its own i guess...I like MCM and will def go to another sale. Which I think is October.

  25. I think Im gonna stop going to the 360 sales. Maje sale today was so badly priced , could probably get a better deal at any discount designer store any day:(

  26. There is a F&F Jimmy Choo sample sale at Met Pavilion next Tue-Wed. The invite says you must register but if it's anything like last few years second day should be open to the public (fingers crossed).

Also the Nicolas Kirkwood sample sale is taking place through Friday at C21 Edition. Discounts are only 70% off but like Sergio Rossi last week you should see steeper discounts very soon.

  27. Did anybody go to D.L. for candles, etc.? I noticed they had a sample sale during December so wonder if it is anything that special?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I went during toward the last days in December without knowing anything about the brand. The selection was not vast, some merchandise are slightly dirty and their boxes not in great shape. The pour of the wax in the candles are not always level or smooth. There are LOTS of skull motif candles. There were sets as well as individual candles. There are apple and pear shaped candles (see their website). These may be the best burning and smelling candles, but it didn't look anything high end to me. I'm surprised this brand is even sold at Barneys. Most of the stuff are 50% off with some seasonal sets at 70% if I remember correctly. I say skip the sale unless you are a big fan. Not impressed. Hope that helps. Good luck.

      Delete
    2. Sarah - thank you for the in depth feedback. I wasn't that impressed by the website (however, a few candles looked interesting) but the prices even at 50% off are not that great unless the candles really look high end.

      Delete
    3. The discount was closer to 70% when i went last week. The apples and pears that are retail for $90 are $25 at the sale. Personally I think those are the only ones worth getting. There are also $15 candles and $20 sets.
