*SAMPLE SALE* Aquatopia

Everyone knows the heavy hitters but, if you really want to stay on top of the shoe designer game, you need to know Aquazzura. Italian cobbler Edgardo Osorio's footwear brand is simply adored by fashion insiders for his fun and glam sense of design. Today, I attended the label's sample sale and was immediately drawn to Aquazzura's fabulous collection of shoes--not to mention the sample sale prices. So, welcome to Aquatopia!

This week's 3-day Aquazurra sample sale is being hosted by the brand's consulting firm and the sale offerings were set up inside a small room within this third-party company's office. When I dropped by, Aquazzura's gorgeous stilettos, flats, booties, sandals, and other designs were displayed on shelves along with other footwear labels represented by this consulting firm. I will get to those additional brands later but first, here's what you can expect to find in the Aquazzura sale section.

From sparkly evening sandals to pointy lace-up booties, shoes from Aquazzura's current and past collections were discounted up to 80% off. Sizes were available from 35 to 42 and there were plenty of styles that are currently being sold at full retail prices at department stores like Bergdorf Goodman. Case in point, a pair of Sloane booties currently retails for around $560 but they were $179 at this event. Moreover, the sale merchandise included Amazon sandals for $167, Sexy Thing sandals for $136, Amelie flats for $164, Amelie heels for $224, Sahara sandals for $188, Belgravia flats for $156, Mayfair peep-toes for $143, Jupiter sandals for $262, Sasha booties for $236, and Juno sandals for $191. It's worth noting that inventory was not abundant and sizes 36-37 were disappearing fast so, if you plan on stopping by, I suggest you hurry before they're all snatched up.

As I mentioned earlier, there were other footwear brands present at today's Aquazzura bargain event. Items from Bernado 1946 were $35 & $75 while Charles Philip Shanghai smoking slippers were $35 (last photo below).

If you're a diehard shoeaholic like I am, you'll be quite pleased with this week's Aquazzura sample sale. According to the flyer, RSVP is stated as being required but I found there was no checking-in at the door. I know there are many designer shoe sample sales lined up for next few weeks but if you can't stand the hype and chaos of big headliners like tomorrow's Jimmy Choo sale, this Aquazzura sale might be worth your time. Prices and selections were simply too hard to resist. All you have to do is act fast!

  2. Wow! Thank you for the details! I didn't realize there were other brands at the sale. Do you recall seeing any Fratelli Rossetti? I've read that they rep them as well. I'm headed there in a few hours hopefully they still have size 37 Belgravias

    1. Hi Nara,

Just the three: Aquazzura, Charles Philip, Bernado 1946. Hope you find what you want!

    2. Just left the sale and unfortunately it's very picked over by now. Most sizes have about 3 pairs only with 37 and 40 faring slightly better (8-10pairs) but all popular styles are gone. Majority of the showroom is dedicated to Bernardo and Charles Philip shoes so it looks deceptively well stocked when you first walk in. Although at $35 those shoes are a real bargain.

    1. They don't send a confirmation. You can just go and say you rsvp'd. There was no name checking this morning. Stock in general was limited. Maybe 2 shelves worth of 39s and 40s.

  4. Hi, do you remember seeing any Belgravias or wild thing sandals in 39.5-40 section:) . Thank a lot for all the replies!

  7. Just got back from the Aquazurra sale. Not alot left if you are a size 39 and up and I was told they are not restocking. I got the 2nd to last pair of amazon sandals for $167 in a 41(nothing smaller) and the last pair of Jupiter booties in a 39 (1-2 pairs of 40's left). All the flat sandals were gone. For smaller sizes it might be worth a trip but i wouldn't go out of my way.

  9. Excellent prices! Can anyone comment on the selection for size 6 or 6.5? Thanks Miz for another great report. I'm a little sad that I am not available to go this morning.

    1. That's my size. There were only 6-7 styles when I was there, right when they opened (including Amelie pump in pony, black, and green, Amelie flat in nude, and Belgravia flat in nude, as well as some heels I didn't pay too much attention to.) No more than 20 pairs per size. I was able to get in on the 37 samples because my foot is wide. I left at 10:30, though, so it's hard to tell how many shoes are left.

    3. Miz, you are too sweet. Thank YOU for making this information available, for staying patient with your readers, and for providing such lovely, in depth reviews. I am always a bit bummed when you don't cover a sale, because your blog is absolutely the best one out there. Thank you!

    1. This was my first time attending so I can't say with confidence they'll have another one in the fall but, if they do, I will definitely let you know.

    2. I asked whether they would have another sale in the fall, and the lady said no, not for a few years, because they've sold out of their entire backstock. I don't know if this is true, take with grain of salt, etc., but that is what I heard.

    1. Hi Hal,

There isn't much merchandise left but if there is a price reduction, I'll let you know.

  13. Just leaving. There's a sad shelf for each size - ie 3-7 pairs per size in about 3 styles. That's until you hit 40, which has better stock. Even the Charles Phillip stock is low and odd sizes. That said, I peeked into another room on the way out and saw someone unboxing other Aquazurra shoes and organizing. I don't know that that's a restock, but I found it interesting.

  17. Girls, just wanted to share something with you, which personally for me kills all the exitement for sample sales. I went to this sale on Monday evening. The stock was very thing, and the remaining items didn't look so appealing. As I was leaving, one of the SA asked me if I found anything. I said that unfortunately, there was not much left to choose from. She asked what sz I was and took me to a separate room where they were unpacking more stuff. She found a pair in my size and style! I was beyond exited, tried the shoes on. In a second another SA stormed in yelling that it was not available! I nicely asked when it will become available and was told that may be tomorrow or never 'cause some of the items are being held for "friends". Well, I left my number and offered to leave my cc info in case they become available. I called the next morning to see if they still have them and was told that they can't find them now. I was so upset, I decided to check ebay later in the night and what do I see! This pair in my sz listed by smbdy from NY! Of course at almost original price! So here you go! What upsets me the most is whoever bought them is just a reseller and not somebody who bought them and changed her mind later. I understand that the sales team can't control every buyer, but why do they hold the stock? As Miz posted on the first day there was no restocking. All these "conspiracy" by the staff kind of supporting for resellers. Sorry for the long post, but I really wanted to share.

  18. Just an FYI from the sale: everything is now an additional 25% off. We have about 5 pairs left in all sizes and about 10 in size 40.

There was no restocking and no, we do not support resellers but as everyone knows, you can not control it. :(

    1. Thank you for the upate, but if you do not restock how come that on Monday you had 3 pairs in sz 40 left which is actually my sz(39.5-40) and now its 10 ;) could u kindly give us an update on the styles you have left?

    2. Monday was very busy and customers were surrounded by shoes that may not have been on the shelves :)

We have a few booties and pumps. Hope that helps!

    5. what pumps left in 36.5-37?

  19. To the staff at the sale: I was one of the last people on Monday, there were no shoes with customers. Long story short, the ebay reseller just got more stock. Just saying;) at least respect fellow fashion girlies and do not try to make things up.
