*SAMPLE SALE* A Search through Burch

If you haven't noticed, Tory Burch is quite busy these days running her multi-billion dollar fashion empire. Her eponymous label is continually expanding and, as such, has just opened up their first boutique in Paris. In addition, the designer is preparing for the launch of her new activewear line next month. And to make things even busier, the company is hosting yet another sample sale this summer (this is number 3!). Having found only disappointment at last week's Bottega Veneta sample sale, I decided to try my luck at this two-day event so I headed over to the Metropolitan Pavilion to search through Burch this morning.

First and foremost, if you're anticipating to find the exact same discounts as those we heard about from last month's private Tory Burch employee sale, you are going to be thoroughly disappointed. Instead, you need to go into this sale with the mindset that you're doing a good deed because the event is being held for a wonderful cause: 100% of the proceeds go to the Tory Burch Foundation which supports the economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs.

Now, let's talk about the goods. The handbag section, by far, was the busiest area this morning. Though the selection wasn't as plentiful when compared to the Tory Burch sample sales at Clothingline, there were still enough styles of clutches, satchels, totes, and purses to intrigue shoppers. Prices on bags ranged from $115 for clutches and small bags to $175 for large bags. I saw stitched Robinson dome satchels, chain-strap Robinson shoulder bags, Amanda satchels, Robinson mini square totes, 797 clutches, and Roslyn satchels & totes.

Meanwhile, over in the shoe section, sizes were available from 5 through 11 and the merch included tons of flip flops (there were A LOT), Georgiana suede peep-toes, jelly flats, Reena wedge sandals, Chelsea ballet flats, and Kailey sandals. Heels & wedges were marked down to $115, rubber flip flops were $25, flats were $85, and sandals were $65.

Accessories were randomly scattered throughout the venue. The jewelry table, situated near the entrance, consisted of $35 earrings, $40 rings, $45 bracelets, and $65 necklaces. The SLG table was placed amongst the bags and was comprised of $20 jewelry cases, $25 cosmetic cases, $30 card cases, and $85 wallets. In addition, there was a table full of $60 sunglasses near the registers and two tables of $25 iPhone cases in the middle of the room.

Women's apparel was placed on racks and tables opposite the bags, shoes, and accessories. Here I found t-shirts, tanks, printed tops, dresses, shorts, jeans, and outerwear. Sizes ranged from XS~XL (0-14) and prices were $25~$400. Furthermore, there were a handful of large woven baskets containing swimwear and children's wear for shoppers to dig through.

While I was there this morning I spotted employees continuously replenishing handbags, shoes, and other items so there is no need to worry about lack of inventory. Though I've been told prices will not be reduced, I will keep everyone posted just in case they do. Again, I would like to reiterate that you should not go into this sale thinking you'll find bargain basement prices. Instead, you'll need to think of it as donating money to a good cause and getting free clothes, shoes, and accessories out of it.
