*SAMPLE SALE* Hermès

There are sample sales and then there are THE sample sales. The latter are categorically put: simply supreme, the crème de la crème, the be-all and end-all. Iconic French luxury goods purveyor Hermès happens to host one of these revered sales and lucky for us the company has now set the dates for their 2015 bargain event. So put on your Jumping boots, saddle up, and ride the trail of long lines and commotion because this year's Hermès sale will once again return to Soiffer Haskin on Wednesday, October 21st for VIPs followed by the official public opening on the 22nd. As most of you may remember, with the legendary label's highly sought-after scarves and enamel bracelets discounted half off, last year's annual sale was a huge success and a treasure trove for many fans. We will have to wait and see if the brand will graciously grant us those same markdowns and selections this time but until then, get your sample sale game plan in place, prepare yourselves for a large turnout, and read the full Mizhattan report from last year.

  7. A source at Soiffer Haskin said that they will limit the merch put out each day, but on Saturday they will put it all out. Source also said that Saturday is the best time to come, as there are much less people. On the first and second non-VIP days they will only let 30 people in at a time as opposed to the usual 100-120.

  12. Just left the VIP sale! It was great. They had enamels and scarves galore! However, it was told that after today they will not be putting out too much merch until Saturday. I took some photos but the quality is not great. Will try to send them over when I can. Good luck!!

    1. Found the liar! VIP started at 12 and you commented at 12:07. Even if you were the first person inside there is no way you checked in, walked upstairs, browsed/shopped/paid, took photos, and commented in the span of 7 minutes. Some people will do anything for attention. Lol

    2. Not the above commenter but there were a few people who were allowed in before the 12pm VIP sale started. If you knew a hermes worker who was working the sale.... I saw 3 allowed in and out before the VIP line was allowed in.

  13. what time is best to go tomorrow?

  14. From what we have been hearing on the inside it's a waste to wait on line tomorrow and Friday. It will be great on Saturday.

  15. Don't you think its kind of a tactic to attract more people for Saturday and get rid of the leftover merchandise??

I decided to go on Saturday and now I am debating whether it was a good choice(( I really want bracelets.

    1. I think its a tactic too. To sway away people from the craziness of opening day. Why would they wait to sell later when there are people waiting to buy. It goes against common sense.

  19. Hi - just got back from the sample sale. Arrived around 6AM and at 9AM they started letting people in but VERY slowly - about 10 people at a time, and they would wait for shoppers to exit before letting in more. But that made the whole sale experience very manageable - I didn't think it was too difficult to get the attention of SAs at the bangle section. I entered the sale at around 10:30 and I was ~85 or so in line to give you a sense of how slowly it moved. By the time I entered I think there were 500+ people in line stretching across the entire street and then down to 31st on 9th ave.

There were plenty of scarves still when I came in, but I only saw them in the 90cm size. Lots of colors though and they were restocking as the stock was getting depleted by shoppers For jewelry, there were lots of enamel bracelets and a few leather ones but the colors were not great and stock was very low. Plenty of boots and heels with a few flats/loafers. I didn't browse the RTW but I think there was quite a wide selection. Everything was 60% off retail, so scarves were around $158, ties at $72 and bangles (1 inch wide) at $220. Restrictions were a max of 5 scarves, 5 bangles, and 10 ties. RTW, shoes and accessories (hats and gloves) were unrestricted. All in all I thought it was a great sale although I was disappointed there were no watches...

By the time I left the line was still super long so I really don't know if everyone will be able to get in based on how slowly people were leaving. Good luck everyone!

  21. Dear Miz,

Help!! I was at the line at 7 AM and got in around 1. I was so hassled. I went in for enamel bracelets and the lady at the counter said 65cm was too small for me. So I bought two 70 cm ones and then went off to the scarves. I reached home, and I noticed the bracelets are too big for me. I don't want to stand in line again. Is there anyway they can exchange it? I mean the Soiffer Haskin people have seen me at sales and I have the receipts etc. I feel foolish really. I had gone in for the bracelets, the scarves were a bonus. Urgh!

  22. Seems like whoever put a comment about Saturday to be better sale was lying. According to the reviews here, staff is restocking. Obviously this person wanted less people on the first day of sale, so he/she could get inside faster. Shame..

    ReplyDelete
  23. OMG! Someone lied about the staff restocking?!?! My heart is broken. Can you imagine if one of us fashionistas waited until Saturday only to be told the bracelets sold out! On a serious note - I can definitely appreciate luxury items such as Hermes. It can be appealing (believe it or not) to wait on line to get a great sale that only comes around once a year. However, keep in mind, you all look like Syrian refugees waiting to enter Europe (although most of you are Asian). When attending this sale keep in mind you DO look foolish, so go with a light heart and treat others around you with respect. You dignity is the real real prized possession you own. It's not worth it to give it up over a stupid metal bracelet or a scarf that doesn't look good on you/your bag/or poodle.

  24. what are the bracelet prices? can anyone take pics and pass along when there today to see what is left in the bracelet assortment especially colors? PLEASE!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Just got back to work after the sale! No scarves. They don't seem to be re-stocking 65 bracelets, lots more assortment for 70s.

Almost saw a scarf get ripped after some tug of war action! Apparently they had them early this morning and didn't re-stock.

  26. I stood in line from 1130-130. Quickly got two enameled bracelets (65.) No scarves left and enameled bracelet selection was SLIM. Whoever said they were sold out eariler is a jerk. Line outside is absolutely ridiculous and moves really slow. Good luck to whomever is still in line or is going to attempt to come tomorrow. Replinishments seem to be happening from what's available. I hope they restock scarves but I doubt they have many.

  27. anonymous @ 1:24pm, please let me know what is the price of the 70's bracelet?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Same prices as last year, go back and look at Mizz article from then

  29. Any bracelets left? What is the line like anyone know?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thank you Miz! I was able to get some scarves and bracelet on the first day. I had to rush back to work since it took very long to get inside so I didn't realize I got two of the same scarves (same design, different color). If anyone is interested in an exchange please leave your email and I will send a pic of the scarf.
