*SAMPLE SALE* Scoping Out Sandro's Savings

Defining Parisian attitude and feminine spirit, Sandro is the label you need to get in touch with when discovering your inner Francophile. Though the brand doesn't exactly sit on the luxury market, their contemporary designs are far from being cheap. This is one of the main reasons why budget-conscious shoppers consider Sandro's sample sales as a great time to stock up on some Parisian staples. Today, the French label invited F&F and press to take a sneak peek at the discounted goods and I quickly made my way to 260 Sample Sale to partake in the preview. So, if you're interested in attending tomorrow's official opening, here's what you can expect from this week's Sandro sample sale.

As soon as I entered the venue, I did a quick scan of the price list before starting my full inspection of the merchandise. Other than a few minor adjustments, prices didn't change much when compared to their last sale in May. Fur coats, blazers, wool coats, and jackets were priced $95~$495 while dresses, shorts, skirts in various leathers were $150~$190. As for non-leather items, they were available at wallet-friendly prices from $45~$95 and included jumpsuits, shirts, blouses, and t-shirts.

Items from the women's apparel section were organized by category and they consisted of seven racks of dresses, eleven racks of light/heavy outerwear, three racks of pants, five double-level racks of tops, and two double-level racks of skirts. As for sizes, all of Sandro's proprietary method of measuring (1, 2, 3) were available. While browsing these racks, I came across several styles of cold weather outerwear such as fur-trimmed puffer jackets, wool duffle coats, long tailored tweed coats, and leather jackets. The dress section also carried numerous styles of leopard prints, LBDs, lace details, sleeveless jerseys, and casual knits. Sweaters and blouses were one of the busiest areas with many shoppers grabbing up vibrant prints.

Women's and men's shoes were situated together in the back. Shoes for both genders were marked down to $125 for sneakers and $150 for the rest. The women's footwear selection consisted of pumps, sandals, booties, wedges, leather espadrilles, and high tops. The men's offerings included slip-on sneakers, chelsea boots, oxfords, and chukka boots.

Unfortunately, handbags were non-existent at today's event but there were other accessories priced very affordably. Belts were $45, scarves (available in prints & knits) were $45, gloves were $35, beanies were $30, and socks were $10.

Male shoppers were just as busy picking out discounted clothes as their counterparts. In the menswear section, there were nineteen regular racks plus six double-level racks that carried suits, blazers, puffer coats, sweaters, dress shirts, trousers, vests, and tees. Sizes ranged from S to XL. As far as prices go, coats were $195~$495, jackets were $95~$265, sweaters were $95, trousers were $85, jeans were $65, and shirts were $65.

This week is filled with several big name sample sales in addition to this Sandro event (Hanky Panky, Movado, Swarovski, David Yurman, and Jimmy Choo), so make sure to plan your shopping itinerary accordingly. Finally, further markdowns will likely kick in towards the end of the sale so stay tuned and I will make sure to update you with any additional news.

  1. Went to last nights preview, total waste of time for Women. Truly the bottom of the barrel stock that nobody wanted.

  2. I agree, it was so disappointing! Mostly the leftovers from the last sample sale and only large sizes. What a waste of time.
