*SAMPLE SALE* In the Mix

At this point in the year, I'm sure you probably checked off everything on your summer must-buy list. After all, boutique sales are now almost over and the marked-down merchandise at department stores are pretty much picked over. But if you're still itching for some rewarding designer discounts, the Intermix sample sale, which runs for six days, is here this week. With a countless trove of coveted designer labels in the mix, shoppers at this evening's preview wasted no time snatching up name-brand bargains.

In my true opinion, this week's Intermix sample sale is for bargain seekers looking to impulse buy in order to dazzle up your look. In other words, it's to find items you don't necessarily need but want to buy so that it adds that sweet finishing touch to your summer outfits. Since discounts were reasonable and lots of hip brands were present, the sale is the perfect place to satisfy that shopping urge.

The women's shoe section, located on the left wall, is a good place to start if you're looking to score on designer shoes. Everything was marked down 70% off retail and there were brand names like Sergio Rossi, Sophia Webster, Alexandre Birman, Jimmy Choo, See by ChloƩ, Paul Andrew, Tabitha Simmons, Aquazzura, Giuseppe Zanotti, Casadei, Alexander Wang, Vince, Nicholas Kirkwood, and more up for grabs.

In the apparel section, items were organized by category, and discounts ranged from 60% to 90% off. While perusing, I found yellow leather biker jackets from Iro priced $360 (originally $1,198 & 9th photo below), trench coats from Dsquared2 priced $638 (originally $1,595 & 10th photo below), black military jackets from Elizabeth and James priced $140 (originally $465 & 11th photo below), sleeveless denim trenches from Derek Lam priced $518 (originally $1,295 & 12th photo below), white blazers from Barbara Bui priced $445 (originally $1,485 & 13th photo below), yellow knit tops from Rag & Bone priced $97 (originally $325 & 15th photo below), V-neck cashmere sweaters from Equipment priced $86 (originally $288 & 16th photo below), embroidered tops from Christophe Sauvat priced $57 (originally $190 & 18th photo below), black peekaboo dresses from Cushnie et Ochs priced $518 (originally $1,295 & 20th photo below), and ivory fringed skirts from Dion Lee priced $400 (originally $998 & 21st photo below).

Accessories were set up next to the checkout counter. Bags from DVF, Clare V., and others were 60%~70% off. In addition, there were four trays of jewelry that included Pamela Love and ChloƩ for 70%~90% off. Finally, there were hats and scarves available as well.

The sale space was packed with shoppers at tonight's preview. Furthermore, the line for the fitting room moved very slowly, so bear that in mind if you decide to stop by tomorrow. The sale opens at 9am and runs through Sunday.

  1. If the size doesn't fit, can I go back and change the size?

    1. As far as I know, sample sales held at 260 are all final sales and no exchanges. However, it never hurts to ask.

  3. The stock is still awful, even with "new arrivals." Intermix seemed to have ship the most basic crap that is not worth it unless it's $20. Some of it is worth 0. The Rag and Bone jeans have straight up burn holes and they still want to sell it for $40.
