In case you haven't heard, there's a new sample sale host in town and they're about to bring some serious heat to SoHo. The company is called Wooster Sample Sale and their venue is located at, appropriately enough, 40 Wooster Street. According to a rep from the company, this third-party sale host has lofty aspirations and is dipping their toes into the city's sample sale scene with an upcoming bargain event that will certainty pique the interest of the cool trendsetting crowd. Headlining the sale are top urban streetwear brands like Vetements, Y-3, Adidas collabs, MM6, Isabel Marant, Kenzo, Lemaire, Rag & Bone, JW Anderson, and many many more. (Seriously, there are like 20-something brands.) Markdowns will be up to 70% off and merchandise will include womenswear, menswear, shoes, and a small selection of bags.

  5. This is more of a retail store sale than a "sample sale". While the merch was great brands, they are pricey and the discounts aren't what you'd expect to find at a sample sale. The highest discount was 70% with most things 30%, 40%, & 50%.
I think you could do better at department store sales. I'd skip it you are expecting to find great deals. But if you're shopping with deep pockets go for it.

    1. Agree. Was very disappointed with the prices, which are essentially full retail before discounts.

  6. This is a really really bad version of a Department Store/Net-A-Porter/etc. sale.

Good stock, but discounts are averaging 40%, with no returns and a 3% surcharge for credit cards.

Wait 3 weeks and get the same stuff from net-a-porter with a bigger discount and free returns

I would be surprised if they got rid of 50% of the stock by the end of the sale at these prices. Seeing a FSR of rafxadidas on day 2 means the good sample sale people of new york know a bad deal when they see one. Priced right these would be gone within the first hour

  7. Yeah, I went yesterday as well and they had a FEW good pieces, but like what everyone said, prices were too high. Most things were 45% off retail. Not sample sale prices at all. No fitting rooms either....so not worth going to. Net-A-Porter's holiday sale is most definitely a better bet.

    1. I absolutely agree with the above. I went yesterday and was really disappointed. It felt like a bait and switch to call it a sample sale, when all it was was unloading expensive merch at slightly discounted prices. With all the sales coming up this season why would anyone spend their money at this place (also who the hell asks for a 3% credit card charge, the merchant should absorb that as the cost of doing business). Hopefully they'll learn when they get stuck with all the merchandise being unsold and next sale will be better.

    2. Bait & switch is exactly right. I'm not sure i'll ever head there again after waiting in line for an hour to see this joke

    3. I'm with you. I would never make the trip again.

  8. Who waited a hour for this? I was lucky because they actually gave me a item accidently at 90% off. I would say not worth only 45% off which most items averaged.
