It's discounts galore at Victoria Beckham! The British pop star turned celebrity wife turned fashion designer is running a winter sale via the brand's online store, and markdowns are a whopping 70% off. Aside from the obvious ready-to-wear, shoppers can find VB's accessories (bags, SLGs, and sunglasses) included in the discount. Some of my favorite pieces are the Classic Victoria Santa Monica aviator sunglasses for $285 (originally $950), natural python wallet for $269 (originally $895), mirrored metal clutch for $888 (originally $2,960), and tailored black wool coat for $930 (originally $3,100). There are lots more items to choose from, so feel free to browse their sale section and spice up your winter looks.

Some of you may have noticed the Proenza Schouler sample sale has been absent for the last two seasons. Now, with the year almost at an end, it appears the brand will be skipping their popular bargain event for good in 2016. But don't worry PS fans as I have a happy ending to this sad story. The label is currently holding their winter sale, and markdowns on handbags are (surprise, surprise!) 65% off. As for what's available, the company's e-store has in stock PS1 medium satchels for $623 (originally $1,780) and perforated PS1 mediums for $659.75 (originally $1,885). There are also PS11 mini classics in black/orange stripes for $857.50 (originally $2,450) and Hava chain handbags for $773.50 (originally $2,210). As far as I'm concerned, this is the biggest discount Proenza Schouler has ever offered on handbags other than at their sample sales, so I would definitely consider taking advantage of the deals while you can. The second round of price cuts have hit department stores and online retailers today. Do you know what this means? It's time to splurge yourself with guilt-free luxury shopping! Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, and Saks are now offering up to 60% off storewide while Moda Operandi's and Net-A-Porter's discounts are up to 70% off. Also, in addition to these five major players, Shopbop is jumping into the action with their own markdowns today. The e-tailer is offering an extra 30% off on all sale items (use code: EXTRA30) starting today until December 15th.

The world famous Harrods department store started their winter markdowns, and I thought this definitely deserved your attention if you're looking for better designer discounts. The luxury retailer across the pond is offering 30% off on a long list of coveted brands, and with the British pound still weak against the US dollar (today's currency exchange rate is $1.00 = £0.79), it's a smart way to save on your shopping.
To give you some specifics, I found in their handbag dept. an Alexander McQueen Inside Out tote for £766.50 ($1,292 at Ssense), and a Longchamp small 3D tote for £308 ($514.50 at US Longchamp). In addition, you can snap up Gianvito Rossi nude pumps for £315 ($670 at Net-A-Porter), Aquazzura Christy flats for £290.50 ($675 at Bergdorf Goodman), a Burberry Wolseley cape for £696.50 ($1,150 at US Burberry), a Stella McCartney Bryce coat for £665 ($1,690 at US Stella McCartney), and a Max Mara Fibra cape for £630.25 ($1,175 at Saks).
This 30% off discount is only valid until December 20th on items that are marked Fashion Sale Preview, and you need to sign into your existing account or register for a Harrods Rewards card to shop. Also, my MizAdvice is to select GBP as preferred currency instead of USD as there is a slight but favorable price difference. Finally, value-added tax (VAT) is excluded and shipping stateside costs £25 (roughly $31.50).

Some sad news to report. After 65 years of service, The Society Boutique MSK Thrift Shop will permanently close next week on December 16th. Known as the Bergdorf of thrift stores, The Society Boutique offers for resale high-end designer goods donated by supporters to help fundraise efforts in patient care and programs at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. A fellow Mizhattanite (BIG thanks to N) kindly let me know that the store is now preparing for closing (they are no longer accepting donations) and is currently offering 75% off on whatever is remaining on the racks and shelves. If you want to stop by, which I highly recommend just for the sake of contributing to a great cause, the address is 1440 Third Avenue, and they are open from 10:30am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday.

Woohoo! I suggest my fellow Mizhattanites check their holiday shopping list twice as Chanel's end-of-year boutique sale is coming to town. The markdowns will officially get underway this Thursday, December 8th (pre-sale is currently in progress at boutiques) and shoppers will be treated to discount of 40% off on prêt-à-porter, shoes, and select accessories. Handbags, as always, will be excluded, but there is an extensive number of shoes included in the sale. For example, I'm told the discounted selection of footwear will include charm-embellished tweed booties, cut-out riding boots, metal ruler heel sandals, patent oxfords, metallic loafers, cap-toe tweed booties, and suede booties.
