REMINDER: YSL Manifesto S/S 2011 Giveaway

As Mizhattan first reported, YSL will be giving away the 8th edition of their Manifesto in New York, Paris, London, Milan, and, for the first time, in LA. The giveaway will be held this Saturday, March 5th at various distribution sites in NYC. The Spring/Summer 2011 Manifesto will contain a booklet photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin with Arizona Muse as the face of the campaign. As the date gets closer, be sure to check back for confirmed locations and time, so that you don't miss out on the limited-edition collector totes.

*MIZBIES* YSL Manifesto Spring/Summer 2011 Giveaway!!

Two things going on in the world of YSL. First, as Fashion Week continues in Europe, rumors of Stefano Pilati's departure have resurfaced; making everyone guess who the next head designer may be. YSL also recently announced the departure of Valerie Hermann, CEO of YSL, which makes this rumor even more credible. UPDATED: Seems the rumor can be put to rest. Pilati isn't going anywhere says tweet by YSL.

Moving on to more exciting news. On March 5th, the YSL Manifesto limited–edition tote bags will be distributed once again. This global event naturally includes New York City, but Mizhattan's west coast readers should also get excited, as this giveaway will take place in Los Angeles for the first time. The Spring/Summer 2011 Edition VIII is expected to contain a booklet photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin with Arizona Muse as the face of the campaign.

MizAdvice: Remember ladies and gents, the collector totes are very very limited in quantity. So, to help you along, here are some past distribution locations that I feel are viable places to stake out: Grand Central, Times Square, Soho, Union Square, and their 57th boutique. Here's a crazy thought. Have you ever wanted to cover your computer screen with luxurious Hermes leathers? Well, Hermes seems to think you should. By going to Hermes.com, choosing United States, then clicking on the link that reads "travel the world of Hermes", you're half way there to grabbing an official Hermes wallpaper. Once the new page has fully loaded, click on the orange rectangular image that reads Screen Leather in cursive (it's 8th from the left & 4th from the top). You get to choose from 35 different styles that you can download onto your computer. It's like having a Birkin on your computer! While you're there, click around, there's a lot of fun games and info that any Hermes-phile will love.

*MIZBIES* Fall 2010 YSL Manifesto giveaway!!

Next Tuesday, September 14th, YSL will be giving out their limited–edition tote bags, Manifesto booklets, and custom zippered wristlets designed by Stefano Pilati. For the past several Fashion Weeks, YSL has been handing out fashionable freebies to promote Manifesto and this season is no exception. The booklet was photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. It features Daria Werbowy. Only 2,000 totes will be distributed.

MizAdvice: In the past, Union Square and Bryant Park were prime spots for this distribution. Since Fashion Week has moved to Lincoln Center this year, my guess is to try this location first. Best of luck to you!!

Tomorrow (6/25) from 10am~3pm, Auntie Anne's is celebrating the grand opening of their Rockefeller Center location with a giveaway of their famous pretzels. The store is located on the concourse level.

Royal pain at Royal Pains event

The USA network's Royal Pains and Lacoste event seems to have drawn a huge crowd. I mean, can you expect anything less when they are giving away Metrocards and $50 Lacoste gift cards? Currently, at 1pm, the line snakes in and out from 32nd to 34th St. The wait seems to be at least an hour and a half. People are moaning and groaning at the looong wait in the hot, sticky weather. This event is also not without controversy. Other than the usual line-cutting, it seems a whole bunch of opportunistic people have continuously come back with additional shirts, in order to exchange them for the gift cards and Metrocards. One person bragged that he got 10 of both cards--which amounts to $522.50--that is ridiculous!! Charitable causes are great, but really???? In addition, one shirt-less man exchanged his sweaty shirt (he just came from the gym) for the gift card and then promptly tried to sell it to the people waiting in line for $25...oh my~ Finally, the NYC souvenir shop on 33rd sold a lot of "I heart NY" shirts (care to guess why??).

Tomorrow (June 3) at Greeley Sq Park (32nd St. & 6th Ave.) between 8am~6pm, USA Network's Royal Pains has teamed up with Lacoste to hold a Summer Shirt Exchange event. Exchange a gently worn shirt for a $50 (yup..a 5-0) Lacoste gift card. Your shirt will be donated to HELP USA.
