*SAMPLE SALE* Shopping Theory

There weren't many shoppers for the start of the Theory sample sale at Clothingline. It could have been the dreary weather that kept them away.

After stashing my umbrella, I walked into the showroom and was confronted by numerous racks of office-wear blazers, coats, and knits. First thing to mention, the knits, tees, and select sweaters were hung on wall racks and blocked off by glass showcases. You have to grab a ticket and ask for items that you wish to purchase. There are NO TRY-ONS for knits and tees but you can exchange items you don't want by Sunday, December 5th--just don't remove the original tags.

Deeper inside the showroom, circular racks held blazers, heavy coats, pants, and dresses in warm winter fabrics like tweed, wool, and leather. Sizes ranged from 00 to 10. I found a nice navy-colored double-breast Ellery coat for $249, which was originally $645. Almost every item was in an excellent condition--some still in plastic covers.

I had no expectations in finding anything colorful or elaborate. So, seeing the whole floor full of basic pieces all in neutral tones felt dull and boring. Stop by if you need professional–looking clothing for work. The price list, as always, is at the end of this post.
