*SAMPLE SALE* Bargain Sandals at Loeffler Randall's

This breezy cool morning was the opening day of the Loeffler Randall sample sale. The label's downtown chic sandals, flats, booties, peep toes, and boots with a selection of RTW were available. Let's have a look, shall we?

Arriving at their showroom in Soho 30 minutes prior to the scheduled opening, I found a handful of ladies waiting. Within 5 minutes of my arrival, the line really started to grow--swelling into a crowd of 30-or-so shoppers.

So, let's start with the disappointment. Actually, "concern" would be a better choice of word. Instead of displaying hundreds of pairs of shoes in boxes, the sale organizers of Loeffler Randall put each pair in a plastic bag attached to a metal hanger so that it could be put on racks. And since their showroom space was quite small, the ability to comfortably move around was limited. So we have bags with metal hangers, we have people packed in like sardines in a can, what are we missing?? Oh~ that's right!. Aggressive shoppers. Now, can you see my point? These metal hangers were essentially unintended weapons. I had to dodge quickly in several occasions to avoid being poked in the eye. A very bad idea, I'd say. Rookie mistake on their part? Let's hope next year will be different. Also, seeing a mother with a precious toddler not paying attention to her child with all these dangerous metal hangers made me very anxious.

Now that's out of the way, here's the bright side of today's sale. The selection of shoes was MORE than impressive. The variety and quantity of Loeffler Randall's youthfully stylish designs available would have satisfied any shoeaholic's appetite. Twisted mignon flat sandals in rose gold were $125 (originally $295 & 7th photo below), safety pins detail flats in salmon were $125 (5th photo below), Ginevra peep toes were $225 (originally $550 & 6th photo below), cheetah print booties were $275 (originally $625 & 3rd photo below), lizard skin sandals were $225 (originally $525 & 9th photo below), and finally, Irina pumps in nude were $200 (originally $495 & 4th photo below). These pumps in black are currently selling online for $347.

Situated on the right side of the showroom was a bunch of Loeffler Randall apparel. To no one's surprise, they were hardly being glanced at. But just in case you are wondering, here are a few prices. Jackets & blazers were $250, dresses & jumpers were $175, Pants & skirts were $125, blouses & tanks were $100, and shorts were $100. And on my way out, I found a tiny easy-to-miss plastic sample bin with a few handbags & belts. Most items here were $75 & under. Other than my "concern" about those metal hangers, I say this sample sale is definitely worth the trip since almost all the shoes were in excellent condition and prices were reasonable.

  3. The price was not impressive in my opinion, higher than the end of season sale in the department store. Left empty handed.

  5. they were matilde boots at least when i went. i almost got a pair of black pebbled slouchy boots for $300, but exercised self-restraint as i already have many black boots... also, while they weren't "used" they weren't in great condition either.

i agree with the third "anonymous" poster -- prices for the out of season sandals and wedges were higher than department store/websites a few MONTHS ago when it was warm enough to actually wear them.
