It looks like Chanel has decided to jump on the price hike bandwagon. That means, in a span of less than a month, this will be the third price increase article (read Prada & Hermès) I've written. Geez! For Chanel, their annual price increase on classic bags is scheduled to begin on February 1st in the US market. While prices for classic flaps have been released (see below), the cost for 2.55/Reissues remains unknown. Current prices for 2.55s are $4,300 for the jumbo and $4,700 for the maxi. Shoppers should see the price tag jump around 15% for these two styles in about 2 weeks. And if you think this upcoming increase is bad, listen to this. According to my source, Chanel may undergo a SECOND price hike sometime in May. I will make sure to keep you updated if in fact this happens, until then, let's keep our fingers crossed!
New Mini: $1,900 goes up to $2,400
Classic Flap Medium: $3,900 goes up to $4,400
Classic Flap Jumbo: $4,300 goes up to $4,900
Classic Flap Maxi: $4,700 goes up to $5,400

thank god! I just bought a chanel maxi right before the holliday. it still expensive! but, Im happy that i got one before the price increase again.
Do you think it's worthy to invest your money to buy one? I guess, if you decide to get one anyway. It's better to get it sooner.
I would say a classic bag (whether from Chanel or Hermès) is always a good investment IF and only IF you have a love for fashion. For example, my mother bought me my first Chanel bag when I was in high school. To this day, I treasure it deeply. I would never sell it but if I were to, I would actually be making money since the price has skyrocketed. Just make sure to keep them in good condition if you have any thoughts of selling in the future.
Why did i think the jumbo was near 6? I know my smaller flap bag was around 4 & the wallet with cross body strap was priced at 2.

I've been in Brussels Chanel Boutique yesterday and the price increased already!
Medium size that before christmas was 2820 euros is now 3100!!!
Just called all their locations/department stores in NY, and the classics are all gone. I'm pretty sure that the company decided to "cut off" the sale to make it more "desirable." I saw a bunch of them last week when I visited both their SoHo location, Bloomies and Saks. I guess I waited too long..

Do you know if the GST, PPT, or PST will increase to? I called like 3 weeks ago and the classic WOC was 1650. all these will increase there prices too? :(
GST, PPT, and PST price does not increase in Houston. Just called the local Chanel store and the price for GST is 2900USD, PPT is 2400USD and PST is still 2000USD. Hope this helps

How long do you think they will keep rise the price? Would it be a good idea to buy one asap since I never own one? It's so sad wish I had buy one a lot sooner....
I found out about the price increase 5 days prior and was able to get my hands on the classic flap in maxi 3 days before the increase^_^ All the classic was sold out everywhere! I was lucky to find them at the Belligio in Vgeas.
