*MIZSPECIAL* How Old?

Just like a bottle of fine wine, there are things that get better with age. For example, did you know that Tiffany & Co. will celebrate its 175th birthday this year? Or that Louis Vuitton is 158 years young? How old do you think De Beers is? The answer might surprise you. One reason shoppers pay a hefty sum for luxury goods is because they're also buying into a part of history and tradition. A sort of guarantee that the label from which the item was purchased has stood the test of time and will continue to do so. After some exhaustive research, I've compiled a birthday list of the 54 most important luxe brands in history. Have a look after the break and see how old your favorite brand is. And to these fashion houses, I wish you a very Happy Birthday in 2012!!

  4. DeBeers is 134years old. It was founded in 1888, then acquired by the Oppenheimer family in the 1920's.

Where is the 11years old coming from?

  5. I think Mizhattan means when DeBeers went into the business of selling jewelry to consumers. DeBeers actually did wholesale prior to opening up boutiques.
