*SAMPLE SALE* Throw Me a Rag & Bone

Undoubtedly one of the coolest casual brands at the moment, Rag & Bone creates apparel that's easy-going and incredibly wearable. The brand's sample sales are always super popular amongst the young shopping crowd and today's Friends & Family portion proved just that. Let's head right in, shall we?

The ambiance inside today's Rag & Bone sample sale is best described as crowded and hectic. The sale was divided into two sections--menswear on the lower floor and womenswear on the upper floor. By the time I arrived, shoppers were already busy rummaging elbow-deep through the piles of clothing and racks full of Rag & Bone goodies.

Starting in the women's section, I found prices to be fair. Dresses were $195, jeans were $95, sweaters were $125, bottoms were $125, T-shirts were $40, and pants were $125. As for merchandise, most items were from the Spring/Summer '13 collection. Here's a small run-thru of what I found. The Jefferson blazer, the Eton jacket, the Bishop trench, the Highclare shorts, the Astrid sweater, the Easy pants, and the Daisy skirt.

Unfortunately, the women's shoe section was not as plentiful as the apparel. Comprised of oxfords, ankle boots, flat sandals, and espadrilles, the inventory in the shoe section was going fast. Espadrilles and flat sandals were $150 while oxfords and booties were $195. Luxury shoes--Sigi, Ezra, and Fender--were priced $295. Near the cash registers, a small selection of handbags and accessories were present. Handbags such as floral print Pilots, canary yellow Pilot clutches, and blue Pilot satchels were $125. Other accessories included belts, scarves, and hats. The stylish straw hats and fedoras were very popular at today's sale.

Now, let's talk a little about menswear. The lower floor of the sale was overflowing with men's clothing. Comprised of outerwear, jeans, sweaters, shoes, and accessories, 30+ well-dressed guys were quickly grabbing up whatever they could. I know Rag & Bone's signature style can be a bit too casual for some, but if you still haven't found something nice for Father's Day, it might be a good idea to check out the men's selection. Besides, what can go wrong when ties, T-shirts, and button-down shirts were all priced under $100?

Finally, I was informed that the inventory will be replenished throughout the sale--both in the mornings and in the evenings. So check back often. In addition, there were separate (very cramp) fitting rooms available for men & women. Also, please be aware that mirror time is at a premium at this sale. I only spotted 2 mirrors on the showroom floor and 2 inside the fitting room. Therefore, my advice is to bring a friend to with a good eye.
