This week's Monika Chiang sale officially opens tomorrow and runs through Sunday. The sale offers shoppers a great wealth of affordable items. Leather totes, wallets, oversized fold-over clutches, belts, iPad cases, and shoes decked out the showroom when I dropped by. In the bag area, there were various designs such as the Signia satchel (10th photo below), Gabon hobo, Dome satchel (12th photo below), crocodile embossed envelope clutches, and Moto fold-over clutches. As for prices, almost every single bag was under $100. An unbelievable deal since Monika Chiang's handbags usually retail just under $600.
In the shoe section, I spotted loafers, platform sandals, knee-high boots, studded flats, booties, oxfords, flat sandals, pointy pumps, and lace up satin slippers. While leather boots were priced $149, every other style of footwear was marked very reasonably at $99 & under. To give you specifics, the Clairmont loafers in the photo above were $69 (originally $345), Casablanca satin slippers in the 7th photo below were $59 (originally $195), L'Eze d'Orsays in the 1st & 2nd photos below were $99 (originally $445), and Zelda oxfords in the 8th photo below were $69 (originally $395).
As for accessories, I found oversized zipper corset belts, quilted leather iPad cases, and suede pouches with chain fringes. The name Monika Chiang might not ring any bells to many folks since the label was only launched in 2011. But today's sample sale offered great prices on this up & coming brand. Bargainistas, in particular, might want to drop by the Chelsea Market venue and have a look. If you're interested in attending the sale, I suggest checking out the company's website to get a better sense of the label.
