What was regarded as one of the greatest sample sales in NYC has become nothing but a sad disappointment lately. The last YSL sale, which took place only a few months ago, was the worst sale the brand has ever had. Now that the company is hosting yet another event for the fall shopping season, I'm sure many of you are having doubts and wondering if it's worth your time and money. Well, thanks to a few kind Mizhattanites who shared some details from inside today's VIP sale, I can soundly say this week's YSL sample sale is another letdown.
According to one tipster, just like previous sales, today's sale merchandise was comprised of ancient Stefano Pilati designs and nothing from Hedi Slimane's current lineup. Those of you thinking of snatching up a few archival YSL handbags shouldn't even bother either. The bag section, as described by another tipster, was almost non-existent. Read: No clutches and definitely nothing desirable.
The shoe selection, per another reader, was described in a somewhat optimistic fashion. With prices ranging from $150 to $300, there were a few cute sandals & heels--but this all depends on your size. I've also been told sunglasses, jewelry, and fragrances are worth a peek but that's it.
Ultimately, to go or not to go is your call. But as stated by fellow Mizhattanites who wrote in, today's YSL sample sale was a fail. So, for the first time, I'm planning on skipping the YSL sale tomorrow. Instead, I'll be reporting from many other sample sales happening this week. Stay tuned!
