With only a handful VIPs perusing the racks, the ambiance inside the Calypso preview was easy breezy just like the style of the brand. First and foremost, there were no shoes, home decor products, or handbags available. Instead, there were tons of women's apparel (plus a limited selection of $19 scarves) up for grabs. Organized by category and different price groups, I was able to find many summery outfits at bargain prices. How much of a bargain, you ask? Well, other than one or two evening dresses, everything was priced $79 and under. Tops, for example, were $19~$59, sweaters were $39 & $59, dresses were $39~$79, skirts were $39 & $59, pants were $39 & $59, and shorts were $29.
To go into detail, I spotted many different hues, prints, and textiles at the sale that will fill your vacay style checklist. Beaded tunics? Check. Embroidered eyelets? Check. Denim shorts? Sparkly sequins? Printed silks? Check, check, and check. You get the idea.
I couldn't find any sample racks at today's event. However, shoppers will be pleased to know there were six "priced as marked" racks in the back left corner of the venue that had $19 dresses, tops, skirts, and pants. And speaking of which, there were additional "priced as marked" racks near the coat check area. Here I found a Mongolian fur vest for only $79 (23rd photo below), a nautical stripe sweater for $59, and a sequined tank for $59 (3rd photo below).
Also, I have to mention that inside the few bottoms/pants racks, I spotted an assortment of jeans and shorts from Adriano Goldschmied. It was strange to see them at this sale (probably overstock) but none of the shoppers were complaining. AG jeans were $39 & $59.
On a final note, I was told inventory will be replenished throughout the week so drop by as often as you can. I couldn't get a definite answer on the possibility of further markdowns but I will definitely keep you posted.
