The hazy, hot, humid weather didn't stop ladies & gents from lining up at the Rag & Bone sample sale.
The glass door at Chelsea Market opened at 11am and there were about 50 people waiting patiently to be let in. About half of these people were men (I've never seen so many guys waiting in line to get into a sample sale). But it is very understandable considering the designers of Rag & Bone, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, really understand what men want and were awarded for their excellence at CFDA this year.
OK, back to the sale. There were lots of pieces from their spring/summer 2010 collection which were back–to–basics military/utilitarian inspired pieces. Oversized tuxedo shirts, little dagger–print skirts, leather jackets, drapey tanks, cotton military vests and jackets and so on were priced very reasonably (see the exact pricing at the end). Guys and gals at this sale were very busy grabbing at least 5 items at a time and bumping into each other. I especially loved their shoes section. Canvas strap heels and flats were so wearable and great for this summer. I also found a $50 rack full of past season's clothing but sizes were limited. The men's section didn't disappoint either. Their utilitarian jackets, shirts, and pants were perfect for a fashion conscious male, and all items were in great condition.
