The Halston sample sale was full of splendid pieces that were simple, glamorous, and down right Carrie Bradshaw–ish.
In the showroom of Halston and Halston Heritage, songs from the Sex and the City 2 soundtrack played softly in the background. In my opinion, the shoes and accessories were the best part of the sale, so let's start there. Evening satin sandals, leather pumps, patent ballet flats, exotic skin booties & sandals, satin chain shoulder bags, leather envelope clutches, sequin evening clutches, canvas & leather hobos were nicely arranged, waiting to be picked up by shoppers. Most items were quite affordable. Halston leather bags were $200 and under. Exotic skins were $300. You will easily find sandals, booties, and flats for $100. Halston Heritage bags were even more affordable, priced all under $100.
Moving on to apparel, I found many Halston cocktail dresses and evening gowns that had glam written all over them. Most of the 'to–die–for' dresses were priced $300 and $400. Obviously, the Halston Heritage racks were cheaper, but the items available were limited in sizes (most were 4 and 6). I picked up a cute canary chiffon top ($60) but had to put it back after finding a noticeable pen blot on it. Also, beware of some jersey and silk pieces that had minor imperfections.
The employees were very courteous and at 9am there was no line. So, it was one of the most pleasing sample sale experiences.
MizAdvice: Spend a little extra and purchase Halston pieces rather than Halston Heritage pieces. You will get way better quality and style for a tad bit more.
