*SAMPLE SALE* Gucci

With all the Louboutin sample sale commotion, I'm kicking myself for overlooking this gem in my inbox. Last week, Gucci sent out emails inviting VIP and Press to their Friends & Family sample sale starting this Friday. For those who received this exclusive invite, you can expect to save up to 85% off on the Italian house's luxury wears and accessories. Since this event is quite long, my suggestion to those who haven't received an invite and REALLY want to attend, is to try on the last day of the sale. Hopefully by then, they will stop checking for invites. I will most certainly keep my fellow Mizhattanites updated on the situation.

Where: Metropolitan Pavilion, 123 W. 18th St. (bet. 6th & 7th Ave.)

When: Friday, May 18th through Tuesday, May 22nd.

MizAdvice: You can always see current and upcoming events by looking to the right (--->) of this post under the MizReminders section. Don't forget to follow Mizhattan on Twitter for sale updates & other up to the minute info.

  4. I heard the sale starts Friday not Thursday. Is that true?

  5. Yes, the sale starts on Friday. I apologize for the typo. Edited the article to change the error.

  6. Sure, a typo. It's not like you left out a Y!
You should really take more responsibility for your mistakes. I just spent $15 on a cab!

  7. If you are salty over a $15 cab ride to a invite only event that you clearly weren't invited to, do not waste your time on going. Sorry to disappoint, the tax on a keychain will be more than that. Thank Mizhattan for taking her time to inform us that this event was even taking place, & go on with your day.

  8. Agree with Grateful. All of us saved countless hours by reading Mizhattan's reports. Thank Mizhattan for running this amazing blog.

  9. To the Anonymous Above,

I am sincerely sorry you had to waste your time and money due to the typo. I acknowledge that the error was corrected much too late and that this isn't the standard I hold myself to. I hope you can accept my apology.

    And to Grateful and MZ,

Thank you for your readership and support! It means the world to me!! :)

  10. Any word on getting in without an invite? What the have in stock? I've been stalking a bag from the spring/summer 2012 cruise collection. :-) Thanks for keeping us informed!

  11. Getting in without an invite will be impossible at the beginning of the sale. As I wrote in the article, if you are dying to go, I would suggest the last day as the event is quite long. As to what will be available, I've been told that there will be watches, jewelry, and other accessories.

  12. What time is the sale on the last day?

  14. i got an email about this from pulsd, does that mean i got an invite? how does that work?

    ReplyDelete
  15. You will need an invite to get in. Invites are given out to VIPs and Press.

    ReplyDelete
  16. so why did i get an email if i cant attend...

    ReplyDelete
  17. You would need to speak with pulsd about that, as they were the one that sent you the email.

As for official invites, only Gucci can send them out.

  18. I just came from there. I saw no such event happening. I have been to this location before so I know where these kinds of events are held inside the location. It was not in the large room that Soiffer Haskin sometimes has their events. Perhaps, it was on one of the upper floors. I also did not see people in the area that looked like they came from shopping like there usually is with an event like this. I think "Mizhattan's" intel is misinformed on this one.

  19. Kevin,

It's at the Metropolitan Pavilion, not Soiffer Haskin. Unfortunately, you were at the wrong venue.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Soiffer Haskin has a 33rd st location AND they often use the Metro Pavilion for sales too.... as it says above that this sale is at the pavilion. 18th st.

  21. I went to the Pavillion on 18th. The Pavillion has been known to host the Ralph Lauren Home sale too. There was no event there. Has anyone else been there today?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I hear even with invite, you can't go in?
Is it true that you MUST be on the "LIST" to enter?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Kevin,

I believe today is only for gucci employees

    ReplyDelete
  24. You have to be on the list invite by their employee.

  25. went 8am and got in 11:30am....
NO WALLETS, NO SHOES, MOST OF BAGS ARE WORSE THAN THE OUTLET STORE AND DAMAGED.
THEY LET THEIR NON INVITER FRIENDS ON FRONT OF THE LINE SO YOU CAN STAND NEAR THEM AND ASK FOR EXCUSE (MOST OF NON INVITERS WENT IN) TOO.

  26. Anybody know how the mens selection is?

  31. We felt PUNKED by GUCCI. What chumps we were standing in that line, a complete waste of time, unless you were the very few who were lucky enough to get in Saturday 5/19/2012 @9m, then you were out of luck. We arrived by 9am, and after standing there for over 4-hours, and in addition, after watching everyone with over stuffed browns bags filled with Gucci, that they could barely carry, telling us that there was not much if anything left to buy, and we still had hundreds of people in front of us. Then, at 1pm a Gucci associate came out to tell us that they were closing the doors for 2-hours, to let everyone inside finish shopping, then they would reopen, but the associate would never answer the question, what is left, do you have any stock, etc.,? We never got an answer. We decided to leave that chaos and realize that nothing is worth that torment, we got PUNKED by GUCCI. Fool me once Gucci; Shame on Gucci. There were people in line without invites, without picture ID’s, who knows who Gucci actually let in, we were lead to believe that this was a private sale. Well I guess they wanted to PUNCK us Privately.

  32. Anonymous above,

I'm sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience. Hopefully, the people at Gucci will read these comments and provide a better shopping experience in the future.

  33. It was rude of Gucci; they should have had a limit on the items anyone was allowed to purchase. I heard people making lists for others while I was waiting on line and it was not for them. I bet you will see an influx of Gucci for sale on the web...this was handled so unprofessional. How could they not be prepared; they had a list of the “Invited” coming. This “friends and family” event was a joke and a huge cow pie in Gucci’s face, it was wrong on so many levels. All we could do was stand there and watch the over indulgers carry away any opportunity we were promised along with them, the gluttony was palatable. Shame on Gucci for making their loyal customers stand there and watch the gluttony in progress, with no chance of even getting in the door, even with an invitation. Something went very wrong with this sale, very wrong!

  34. If you don't have an invite or you got in but didn't like the merchandise, I suggest you check out the Gucci Private Sale. Here's the link to the article: GUCCI PRIVATE SALE

  35. We got to the Gucci sale around 5:30 AM on Saturday. I ended up going in with the first 20 people. They had a large selections of many wonderful items to choose from. Unfortunately if you got to the sale at 9AM, you were most likely going to wait on the line for about 2 to 4 hours. At this point you were basically to late. There were a few selections left over, I admit not many, but there were a few. This sale was handled very professionally and you should not blame Gucci because you got out of bed late. If you know the crowd is going to be huge, they get up a little earlier.

  36. I heard they ended the sale on Sunday. Did anyone check to see if that is true?

    ReplyDelete
  37. It's end. I went today, and it's empty.
