*SAMPLE SALE* Montblanc

If you're in need of a stylish gift for a man, you're in luck! Montblanc, will be hosting a 2-day private sample sale next week. The company's well-known fountain pens, briefcases, watches and other accessories will be available at significantly reduced prices. And don't worry ladies, you won't be left out. When I attended their private sale last year, I found a wide variety of women's merchandise such as handbags, jewelry, and sunglasses. Just remember, shoppers will only be allowed to purchase 5 items maximum.

Where: 260 Fifth Ave. (bet. 28th & 29th St.)

When: Monday, October 22nd, 9am~5:30pm
Tuesday, October 23rd, 9am~5pm

  1. I just read your review from last year. Since when are $400 pens reasonably priced? Even a $100 is not reasonable. Also, 70% off is not that great when it comes to a sample sale. I expect at least 80% off for a good one.

  2. These aren't just "pens". Montblanc writing instruments are small jewels. And that is why they cost so much. If you just need a "pen" then $400 isn't reasonable. But if you are in it for something more, the price is well worth it. Also, I don't know where you're coming from but 70% off is the norm when it comes to solid sample sales. Sales that are usually 80%-90% off start to include bargain bin crap and unsellable merchandise which just clutters the sale. Just be thankful that there sample sales to go to in the first place and that Mizhattan is doing a wonderful job letting us know when and where they are.

  3. If you think 70% off is the norm then you're shopping at the wrong places. The department stores offer bigger discounts than that.

  4. $400 for a Montblanc pen is very reasonable when some are over$4,000. Your not buy a drug store pen here. A Montblanc will last generations if cared for well. If your unaware of what a Montblanc writing instrument is I don't think this is a sale for you.

70% is what most sample sales start at. Yes, you can find better deals at department stores, but that 80% off thing at department store has been looked over and passed up by 1,000 of other ppl before being priced down to 80%. Or a department store reject sent to a discount department store.

Any sale of quality is going to start at 70% or less. Then the discount gets higher as the quality items are gone.

  8. There is line. I wait about 1 hour to get in. They limited 30 min per person. That's why it's not too crowed inside. They have jewerly, writing instruments, belt, and handbags. Most of the stuff are 65% off. Leather are up to 75% off. Prepare longer wait during the day. Good luck.

  10. Just left. There was no line. Prices were good. Some pens were as cheap as 300. The briefcases were wonderfully priced. Some were 600 which is a steal if u ask me. The people who arrived at nine must have gotten the best stuff but I still managed to get 3 items at a reasonable price
