*SAMPLE SALE* Big MAC Deal

The bi-annual Rebecca Minkoff sample sale kicked off at noon today--no VIP night this time. The contemporary brand is known to attract young hip crowds, and once again, Minkoff-hungry shoppers gathered as early as mid-morning to get their hands on the label's most sought-after handbags. Hungry for a Big MAC deal, young trendy shoppers entered the sale and found a long menu of bags to choose from.

The venue was divided into 4 basic sections: handbags, shoes, clothing, and samples. The handbag section, of course, was where most shoppers congregated. Three huge tables running the length of the showroom neatly held a colorful rainbow of Rebecca Minkoff's popular bags. The vast array of fabric & leather bags were organized by style. I spotted tri zip MACs for $175 (originally $330) & mini 5-zip MACs for $125 (originally $250). Kiss + Tells, Stunned Jesses, and Flirtys were available at $125 (originally $250) while Affairs & Swings were priced $200 (originally $395). MABs (quickly grabbed by lucky shoppers) were priced $275 and Desires & Flames were $250. You can find the extra long price list at the end of this article.

Comparing today's sale with last year's, the selection of footwear seemed a lot better this time around. There were lots of different styles like cold-weather ankle boots, office-appropriate pumps, patent flats, and knee-high leather boots. Prices for shoes were divided into three groups. Flats were $75, pumps & wedges were $150, and boots were $175. Shoppers will find the shoe section located all the way in the back of the venue.

Adjacent to the shoe tables were 3 racks of clothes. Items were mostly comprised of summer staples but prices were convincing enough for me to take a look. Tanks were $60, long sleeves were $100, bottoms were $75 & $100, and dresses were $150. You may not be able to wear them right away, but the clothes were worth a look for next summer.

Finally, two giant tables of sample & damaged bags were located on the right side of the showroom near the checkout counter. Prices for samples were $150 and damaged bags were $50. Accessories such as scarves, sunglasses, iPhone cases, and coin purses were $50 & under. Last, but not least, I was told that there will be restocking as the sale progresses. As for further markdowns, we'll have to wait and see.

  1. Thanks for the great review! I was thinking of stopping by and grabbing a mini MAC but I headed to Anna Sui instead and I'm very glad I did. Might head to Rebecca Minkoff later in the week. Did you see any M.A.C. Bombe handbags?

    1. There were MAC Bombe bags for $175. How was the Anna Sui sale?

    2. Anna Sui was pretty good. A lot like last year. I have a report up on my blog. Pricing was pretty much the same. Worth it for the shirts and skirts. I didn't really feel like it was worth it for the dresses. A wide variety of colors and fabrics. A decent range of sizes though I'd guess it was mostly 0-6 in the main racks.

  2. Anyone have any reports of current shoe inventory or the line this afternoon?

  3. Question: Does anyone know if they are selling the Jade Baby Bag? Specifically the pink one. Thanks!
