*SAMPLE SALE* Prima Donna

No designer understands the New York City girl mindset like Donna Karan. Her moderately priced secondary line, DKNY, is the younger label known for epitomizing the upbeat, style-savvy New Yorker who loves trendsetting outfits. When I attended the DKNY sample sale preview this afternoon, I found all kinds of merchandise any budget-conscious fashionista would love to add to her spring wardrobe. In summary, the sale was top-notch!

Ladies, without a doubt, this week's DKNY sample sale is the perfect place to stock up on your wardrobe essentials. Apart from some heavy coats and leather assortments, almost all of the merchandise available at this event was priced under $100. Starting with RTW, there were racks upon racks of functional office wears as well as evening dresses to satisfy anyone's taste and budget. Fun & flirty items such as crocheted eyelets, floral prints, gleaming sequin skirts, metallic laces, peplum dresses, and leopard print fake fur jackets were just some of the standout items from today's sale. As for prices, coats & jackets were $125, dresses were $85, tops were $30~$50, and bottoms were $30. Leather apparels were priced as marked but I spotted sleek black leather blazers priced $249. Per usual, the full price list is at the end of this article.

Handbags and shoes were very well priced. The bags were located near the checkout counter and comprised mostly of quilted chain straps, woven hobos, and logo prints. All handbags were $75. Shockingly affordable, in my view. As for shoes, prices for boots, booties, sandals, wedges, pumps, and sneakers were amazing at price points ranging between $30 and $50. And for those shoppers interested in jewelry, they were only $5!!! On my way out, I spotted a small selection of men's merchandise situated near the coat check on the opposite side of the entrance. Men's coats were $125, shirts were $30, sweaters were $50, and shoes were $30.

It's hard to describe DKNY as a groundbreaking label, but it is the prima brand when it comes to finding wearable outfits that can last a long time. Today's sample sale not only offered shoppers great quality and abundant quantity, it also had the bonus of providing amazing markdowns. So for style-setting New Yorkers on a budget, the best place to spend your time and money this week is at the DKNY sample sale. Happy Shopping!

    1. I didn't find any collection pieces today so I asked one of the employees. I was told there is a slight possibility they may get some later this week, but it sounded iffy.

  2. Thanks for the great reviews and pictures! On the last sale, did they end up slashing prices towards the end? What are the ranges in shoe sizes? Any in size 5's and 6's? TIA!

  4. Just stopped by again today (260 Sample sent out an email that they took reductions last night) and still the same merchandise as Monday - probably why they reduced prices as they didn't sell much! Coats are gone and 3 handbags remain (nothing exciting)...if I remember correctly prices now are: dresses 50, blouses 30, knits 15, sweaters 30, skirts 30 pants 20, boots 30, shoes 20, belts 20 (best value/selection in my opinion), scarves 15. Boots are by far the best value at 30- still have the same selection as Monday. Majority of the merchandise is dresses and pants. Go today/tomorrow because I am sure there will be nothing by Saturday at these prices. Also, we asked if they will be reducing prices again and they said probably not because they have already reduced.
