Today's Jimmy Choo sample sale opened at 9:30am for VIPs followed by a general public opening at
Now, let's get to the details. Inside, my wallet and I smiled in unison when I located the price list and found out that not much had changed when compared to last year's Jimmy Choo sample sale. Divided into two price points, shoes with signs of wear were $90 (up $15) while new/unworn pairs were $250 (up $25). Sizes were available from 34~42.5. As for styles, the sale had everything from basic pumps & peep-toes to summer wedges & evening sandals. Damaged boots were prices $275 while gently used boots were $375. And for the first time, men's shoes were present as well. They were prices $250 per pair.
Handbags were arranged along the wall closest to the entrance. 15 long tables were filled with small leather accessories and bags. The selection was comprised of clutches, hobos, shoulder bags, and totes. The pricing was same as the last sale with small sizes marked down to $250, mediums $350, and large bags $450. I even spotted a few Choo-branded luggages. Finally, in the center of the showroom, there were 2 tables: 1 with a lot of belts in different materials/colors and 1 with a vast variety of scarves.
This year's Jimmy Choo sample sale runs through tomorrow and then hands over the baton to Manolo Blahnik. So, make sure to pace yourselves, ladies!
Editors note: I was informed sometime around 1pm that the Jimmy Choo sale had not opened to the public at the planned time of 12pm. I went back to investigate the matter since many fellow Mizhattanites had emailed either out of confusion or frustration. One reader let me know that there were several "verbal arguments going on at the front of the sale." And that "Jimmy Choo reps [we]re ill prepared" to handle the large public crowd. By the time I arrived, word was that the delay was due to restocking and a short break for those working inside. At 1:30, an hour and a half after the original planned opening, the first 10 shoppers were let in. This was followed by larger groups of 15 going in at 4 minute intervals.

ReplyDeleteThere was a price reduction at the last sale. So, it is a possibility. I will keep you/everyone posted via Twitter.
DeleteWould you advise trying to go later tonight, or just wait until tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteGo tonight. If you can't make it, try to be the first group in tomorrow.
DeleteCan anyone tell me what the selection was like in the larger sizes(40-40.5) toward the end of the day?
ReplyDelete40~40.5 were abundant from what I've been hearing from readers who attended the public sale.
DeleteIs there any sizes left in 5.5 or 6?
ReplyDeleteYes, there were plenty as of late afternoon/early evening.
DeleteDear Miz, I am still confused about the time, when will the sale open for public tomorrow ?
ReplyDelete:)
For tomorrow (May 8th), it is 9am-7pm.
DeleteThank u Miz :D
DeleteDear Miz, is it still worth going tomorrow? I am a size 7/ 7.5.
ReplyDeleteYou can hope only that they restock. If you go by what the girl below says, then it isn't worth it.
DeleteI am a 7/7.5 and was there yesterday at 430. There was not a ton of options but there was a small selection. I asked every person that worked there, they assured me there would be a re-stock overnight/ this morning and to come back... we shall see!
DeleteStock was completely depleted by 5:30pm tonight. I first went during lunch and there were so many bags and shoes I thought for sure there would be loads left by the tine I got off work. But what was left were seriously damaged bags or small glitter clutches for $350 (quite ridiculously high for a sample sale). Shoes were a bummer too as most left were damaged. Jimmy Choo should really limit the quantity ppl are allowed to buy because there were dozens of each style handbag and they were all gone due to probably resellers/hoarders
ReplyDeleteI went at almost closing and thought they had a few that were worth snatching. I'll still try my luck again tomorrow as I work nearby and want to see if they price reduce.
DeleteCan someone give me an idea of what time I should go tomorrow in the morning? If I want to go when they open, do I need to be there at 7 AM on day 2?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if they added anything on the second day last year?
I got to Metro Pav at 8:30 and went in at 1:30. Do the math. It will not be as bad tomorrow but still get there a hour before.
DeleteThanks for another great report! I always enjoyed the insightful pictures you provide. Do you know what time they started the markdowns last year? Were the additional discounts available right from the beginning of day 2? Or they weren't being offered until the last hours? Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeletePrices were reduced mid-day at the last sale.
Deleteanyone go today? whats the inventory like?
ReplyDeleteplease give updates on price for today and hours. Thanks! Miz - Viv
ReplyDeleteThe invite says 9~7 but depending on inventory, they may close early. No update on further markdowns as of yet.
DeleteAnyone know what the men's selection was like?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I was told that the men's section was very limited (15ish pairs) as of 5pm yesterday.
DeleteAnyone know what the line is like right now or if they have started slashing prices yet? Not sure if I should go around 230PM or wait til 430PM. Any advice? Thanks all :)
ReplyDeleteThere was no line to get in as of noon today. Prices are still the same
DeleteStaff says no discount this time. :/
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if it's still going on? Was going to head down.
ReplyDeleteUpdates with discounts?
ReplyDeleteNo discounts this morning and staff said maybe no discounts to be had this time (i think it's a lie :) I was looking for bridal shoes and here is what I found: http://www.nykeiko.com/2013/05/in-pictures-looking-for-bridal-shoes-at.html
ReplyDeleteYou inspired me to get out of bed with that picture of the Marlene's. After asking, I scored them at a damaged price even thought it wasn't marked as such because of a few missing feathers.
ReplyDeleteYou can see my haul and a write up about the sale in my blog post if you want.

I went at about 4:30 and they had discounts! I got a mint condition pair of nude peep toed pumps in size 39 (it's pictured above in the blog, actually) for $150. They said there could be more discounts before the end of the sale. There was still TONS AND TONS of stuff left at 4:30-5:00. It's worth a shot to go if you're close!!
