Balenciaga Resort 2014

I took the last few days to catch up on all the newly released 2014 resort collections from designers/labels around the world. Of the ones I saw, Alexander Wang's 2nd collection for Balenciaga was my favorite. It was inspired by the Spanish fishing village where Cristóbal Balenciaga was born. Using the house's signature sculptural shapes & detailing, there are so many wonderful pieces I want to wear while on vacation. Those fisherman hats and chain handle totes, for instance, are a must! Most designers usually experiment with bright colors for resort wear but Alexander Wang's decision to choose only black & white throughout the collection--like the Balenciaga Fall 2013--feels strangely fresh.
