*SAMPLE SALE* DVF Diane von Furstenberg

The DVF sample sale is a go! If you recall, back in late May, the folks at DVF decided to scrap their bi-annual sample sale this year. That's why it came as quite a happy shock when I found out that the head honchos made a last minute reversal in their decision and green lit a sale. Whatever the reasons are for the dramatic shift, I'm just glad that the sale is happening. So, like I promised, here are the full details of this summer's DVF sample sale. Don't forget to read Mizhattan's past reviews from the two previous sales: June '12 & Dec. '12.

Where: 260 Fifth Ave. (bet. 28th & 29th St.)

When: Tuesday, June 25th, 10am~8pm
Wednesday, June 26th 10am~8pm

Saturday, June 29th, 11am~7pm

    1. Mondays have generally been the Press/VIP day. But I can't be certain about this one because of the close turnaround between J.Crew and DVF. I'll keep you posted.

  3. wow! Since they announced it so late I definitely thought it would happen in July. Not sure how I feel about it happening next week! Very short notice!

    1. Short notice but I think everyone will agree that it's better to have one than not have one at all.

  4. So I only started going to sample sales last year so I'm pretty green. A friend told me its really chaotic the first few days so I should wait. From past experiences, are there anything left at around the third or fourth day? Do you think its worth to wait until prices are further reduced? I've never been to a DVF sample sale before. Any insights will help. I've been coveting DVF dresses for awhile now.

    1. It depends on your priority. Is your first priority financially-driven? Do you wear an uncommon size? If your answer is yes to both questions, then go later on in the week. If your answer is no, then go on the first day. It will be pure chaos inside and a long wait outside, but you get to choose from a wider selection of merchandise. So think of your priorities and decide. Hope that helps!

  5. Smaller sizes are generally gone within first two days from my experience and I have been to a few DVF sales so far. Also if you have been eyeing a particular print go the first day.

  6. This will be my first DVf sample sale, any suggestion on how early I should get there on the first day? If I get there at 7:30, when do u think I'llmake it in?thanks

    1. Going at 7:30am would make you one of the first, if not the first, on line. Go around 8-8:30am and you should be fine. Getting there at 9am, now that's a problem.

  13. Just came from sale. Kind of a madhouse inside. Outside line not too bad. LOTS of inventory. All dresses are now $100. Tops are $60. Leather handbags down to $175. Lots of swim caftans thrown into the dress aisles so i think those would be considered $100 as well. I can see why they extended the sale, they still have SOOO much. Should be very interesting to see what they slash it down to on Sunday.
