This is a big one ladies! Saint Laurent has declared the last Friday of June to be the start date for their summer sample sale. The 3-day long all-out extravaganza will feature the French house's luxurious womenswear, shoes, handbags, small leather goods, and jewelry. At prior YSL events, the markdowns were significant and the lines record-breaking. This will be the first sample sale since the label's rebranding campaign so we'll have to see what type of merchandise will be available, but there is no doubt that mayhem and chaos will reign inside. So prepare yourselves by reading the full Mizhattan reports and readers' comments from the last two sales: June '12 & Oct. '12. See you on the 28th!
Where: Soiffer Haskin, 317 W. 33rd St. (near 8th Ave.)

Saturday, June 29th, 9am~7:30pm
Sunday, June 30th, 9am~6:30pm

Do you recommend going the first day, or do u think i should wait till the last day for the additional markdowns? From ur other posts of yhis ss it seems that there was additional markdowns in june but not in october....
ReplyDeletePersonally, I would go on the first day for the wide selection and return for final markdowns on the last :)
Deleteno men's items expected?
ReplyDeleteThere will be a limited selection of menswear.
DeleteHi Mizhattan! Do you think there will be boots and sweaters for women?? Looking for fall merchandise...
ReplyDeletemy bet is on spring stuff but the post says its up in the air because of the rebranding.
DeleteHi Miz,
ReplyDeleteYou wrote the title as Saint Laurent. Does that mean Slimane products will be on sale?
I wrote the article title as Saint Laurent because that's what the brand currently goes by. I highly doubt new Slimane designs will be available. It will most probably be unsold Pilati merchandise.
DeleteAny news on when the Bvlgari sample sale will be?
ReplyDeleteNo word as of now. When there is one, I'll make sure to write an article letting you know.
DeleteThank you! Thank you! Thank you! You made my day!!! My week!
ReplyDeleteLove the brand! So happy as I was thinking the last one would be it for a while with the rebranding.
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! It was my pleasure!!
DeleteJust wanted to say this is why I love reading your site and keep coming back.
DeleteYour nice and take the time out to answer all of us and I can tell you really try to help us all.
You make it a joy to coming to your site.
Thank you for taking the time to write "welcome" to me.
You are the best ever!
Aww~ Thank you so much for your sweet compliments. I really appreciate it. Please share your name with me so I remember. Thank you again!
DeleteI have to agree, Mizhattan you're amazing. There is a following you have out there that is grateful beyond any words.
DeleteWow...I am at a loss for words. Thank you so so much for these kind & lovely words. Such a love fest we have going on. I TRULY appreciate each and every one of you for visiting this site everyday, partaking in the comments, and enjoying what I have to write. Thank you! Please share your name with me also, so I remember.
DeleteI hope it is a good one for you ladies. When I lived in the city I was a poor med student. Now that I can afford this stuff I live in the Midwest and pretty much pay full price for everything except the occasional sale. I just got a pair of plain black Saint Laurent pumps from the NM sale. They are way more comfortable than louboutin and even choos! I will be watching for all the goodies you are able to score!
ReplyDeletewhat is a good time to get there on the first day?
ReplyDeleteI would get there around 7:00-7:30am. If it rains, 8am.
DeleteI am planning on getting there at 6am on friday. I've never been to a YSL sample sale before though and was hoping you could let me know if that seems early enough to not have to wait hours to get in. Any advice on timing would be super appreciated! Thank you so so much!!!:)
ReplyDeleteIf you arrive at 6am, you might be the first in line. If it rains (which there is a possibility of) you could get there later.
DeleteMizhattan,
ReplyDeleteDo you think it is worth going there after 5pm on Friday? Is there any chance I will get in?
Hi Alexandra,
DeleteMy usual answer would be "No". That is because if the queue is too long, even though the sale closes at 7:30, the organizers will cut the line early. But this Friday is suppose to pour, so the turnout might be low. I can't give you an exact answer right now. I will provide line updates on Friday so look out for my tweets.
Thanks!
DeleteI don't care if I am not one of the first groups. Just want to score a black bag. Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteHi Mizhattan,
ReplyDeleteDo you know if there will be a preview day today? I remember there being one for the last sale.
Thanks!
Yes, there is a VIP portion later on in the late afternoon/early evening.
DeleteFYI: I was at the last sale a bit before 5 am and I was about 50th in line - by the time it was 6 am there was already over 100 ppl.
ReplyDeleteBut it was a epic turn out the last sale I think due to the fact that ppl were thinking it was going to be the last sale for a while with the re-branding and the weather was nice.
You can check the comments of the last sale and see that by 7 am the line was down the block - by 8 am it was around the corner - by 9 am it was about 2 blocks long.
What a complete waste of a afternoon. I read on racked that madison ave spy said the sale will open at 9. I went at 2 and NO SALE. I double checked on her blog and the time is now gone. Why does she flat out lie and why does rackd use her as a source?
ReplyDeleteI'm a newbie when it comes to sample sales. Is Mizhattan, RackedNY, and Madison Ave Spy the only sale blogs?
Deleteall 3 sales are different blog sites. Run and written by different people.
DeleteYep, when it comes to NYC sales they are about it.
DeleteHoney, that's not her first time. She wrote about a Alexander Wang sample sale that never happened. She was wrong on the start date for the current DVF sale. And on and on and on. For a spy she doesn't do her job well.
ReplyDelete100% agreed
DeleteMAS just tweeted that YSL will open tonight at 5 pm to the public. I live at the Olivia, which is right next to Soiffer Haskin. So I went downstairs and they are only letting in people on the list. I will never trust her again!!
ReplyDeletewaste of time. overpriced, same as last time. Better deals at saks consolidation sale
ReplyDeletei want to go to the sale tomorrow are the prices really going to be reduced? and what time is good to go? thank you so much
ReplyDeleteNo word as of now. I will keep you posted.
DeleteAlso i went first day of sale at 6am and all shoes were 50% off which i thought was worth it...and bags were not priced well too pricy....
ReplyDeleteYes, the bags were definitely overpriced.
DeleteI went yesterday. It was a huge let down. The cutest bag that i really wanted was a small white bag with the y as a closure. As i looked through those for the best one I quickly realized that they were all turning yellow. The worst part was that they were priced at $799. $799 for a dirty bag?! What a joke. I did however get a pair of black Palais pumps for $200 down from $750 which I was excited about.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your insight!
Deleteso excited that dvf will have final markdowns...any word on ysl, Miz?! Love this site btw. It's my favorite!!!! You're always so engaged and you get the information right!
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of YSL Tributes size 38 gold/Black if anyone is interested in them lmk. Hubby got the wrong size :(
