The doors of today's Club Monaco sample sale opened at 1pm for public entry. When I entered, I found Clothingline's 2nd floor sale space thoroughly filled with Club Monaco's easy-to-wear staples. Divided into 3 sections (womenswear, menswear, and accessories), shoppers were able to choose from a desirable mix of the brand's contemporary wardrobe pieces.
Unsurprisingly, the outerwear section was the most popular area. Comprised of faux fur jackets/vests, peacoats, schoolboy blazers, tweed jackets, classic camels, puffers, and structured coverups, prices on outerwear was very reasonable. Jackets were $60 while coats were $95. Outerwear made of fur, leather, or suede were a bit more at $109. If winter coats aren't your main concern, there were other items like dresses, pants, skirts, sweaters, blouses, and shorts to choose from. From glittery evening skirts to tailored office trousers to printed frocks, shoppers could browse through the racks of $10 basic tees, $25 embellished tops, $30 blouses, $60 cashmeres, $25 skirts, $40 dresses, and $30 pants.
The accessory section was organized by category and was extensive. I spotted 6 giant boxes of scarves, 8 bins of belts, 8 boxes of hats, and a countless number of jewelry. The shoe selection, on the other hand, was very limited and disappointing. There were only a few pairs of classic black pumps (size 37), flat sandals, and a plastic bin full of flip flops. Just like the prices on clothes, markdowns for accessories were impressive enough to convince any frugalista to splurge. Scarves, hats, gloves, belts, ties, and flip flops were priced at $10(!). As for handbags, I spotted different styles like Freja cross-body bags in hot pink, Ernest Alexander weekenders, straw beach totes, and Tawney minaudières in mint blue.
Menswear was situated in the back right and male shoppers were busy browsing between button down shirts, knit tops, casual pants, and jackets. To satisfy those on a budget, tees, polos, and tanks were $10 & $25, shirts were $30, cashmeres were $60, shorts were $20, and outerwear was $95.
Though today's Club Monaco sample sale offered significant discounts, readers should note that many items were in "not so great" condition. Also, FYI, Club Monaco is currently offering an additional 30% off on their clearance inventory via their online store, so couch surfers should definitely check that out. If the label's last event is any indication, prices will drop as the sale progresses. I will let you know when it happens.

Thanks for another great report! Cannot tell you enough times how great your reports are!
ReplyDeleteAre there any leather jackets for men? And are any of the hats cute? Are they mostly summer fedoras or winter knits/beanies? TIA!
Thank you for your compliment. :)
DeleteThere were panamas, fedoras, baseball caps, buckets, and beach straw hats.
As for men's leather jackets, I didn't have enough time to look at men's section more carefully. Sorry.
Thank you so much for this report! I happened to be in the city with a friend and we stopped by, saw the line and burst out laughing. I had thought to not bother, but your report makes me want to take a look . . . of course, Tibi and Marissa Webb and others are right around the corner! Anyway, thank you so much--as I stood there looking at the line, I did think: I bet Mizhattan is already in there!
ReplyDeleteAs always, thank you for your kind words. I hope you had fun with your friend in the city!
Deletehow is the line this morning?
ReplyDeleteIt's too early to tell.
DeleteHi Miz,
ReplyDeleteUsually CM sample sale is size M only for ladies.. is this the case here or they carry size runs?
thanks!
Viv
When I went yesterday, sizes were plentiful. I'm not sure what it's like today though.
DeleteNo line at 4:30 outside or inside. Staff expect huge afterwork rush. Staff also said they have backstock to still put out. Many items are from this past spring and summer...Plenty of size variations. I grabbed two skirts I just recently eyed over the summer that can translate well right now to wear. I was hoping for detailed pieces and a few sweaters. No and NO. I suggest waiting it out until Thurs/Fri when they actually drop the prices. I'm eyeing a few maxi's and rompers for my Jan island trip! Happy shopping.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your two new skirts! Thank you for your reporting!!
DeleteDiscounts in effect today. Everything is $3-$75!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thank you so much for the info!
DeleteDo you know how long this sale goes until?
ReplyDeleteAlso, did I hear that there's a TIBI sample sale? Thank you!!
The sale ends tomorrow.
DeleteThe Tibi sample sale starts on November 13th. An article mentioning the sale will go up next week.
Any further discounts today?
