*SAMPLE SALE* Put Your Helmut On

Ladies, there will be two wholly separate Helmut Lang sample sales happening this week. Just in case you need a little help deciding on which one to attend, I caught an early glimpse of the one at Chelsea Market and want to report that this is the sale you'll want to attend. Though the merchandise was still in the midst of getting organized for tomorrow's official opening, the venue was fully stocked with the brand's edgy urban pieces and there was much to browse through. So, let's race through this sale, shall we? Ok! Put your Helmut on!

Epitomizing the minimalist mood of the 90s, design duo Michael and Nicole Colovos have maintained the brand's edgy style by blending the house's signature draping, prints, and asymmetric lines with leather, silk, and jersey. What I was most impressed with at today's preview was the sheer amount of items from the Fall '13 collection. From cozy layers to biker jackets to Cubist motifs that popped up at the label's Fall '13 show, there were a wide variety of clothes, shoes, & accessories ready to be taken home. In fact, I was told by sale organizer Privé that this week's sale will be the most stocked Helmut Lang sample sale that they ever hosted. But going back to my initial point, I was able to recognize many pieces from Helmut Lang's fall line. The plex hooded vest, stretchy wool overlap jacket, slim leather blazer, and plex hooded coat were but a few of the many current season items on sale at this event.

In the RTW section, prices were grouped into category. Blazers/jackets were $99 & $199, basic dresses were $119, formal frocks were $179, pants were $129, skirts & shorts were $129, sweaters were $79, shirts were $89, and denims were $79. The sale featured an assortment of outerwear and I spotted a multitude of leather biker jackets, shearling jackets, tailored office blazers, and belted knee length coats.

The accessory table was comprised of chic leather pouches (last photo below), scarves ($49), and belts ($39). If you're wondering about shoes, there were Lucent fur stilettos in midnight blue and leather knee boots in black. Remember, both of these shoes are currently being sold online at original retail prices.

This week's Helmut Lang sample sale at Chelsea Market will kick off tomorrow at 11am and will run through Friday. To make the sale extra special and enjoyable, Privé will be offering a free gift with purchase. A choice between either Helmut Lang's high quality tank tops or bras will be given gratis to shoppers who spend over $150. Spend $500 and you won't need to decide as you'll be given both. UPDATE: Prices reduced an extra 30%. New shipment of sweaters, scarves, and outerwear arriving Friday (11/15). Sale extended until Sunday (11/17).
