*SAMPLE SALE* Perse Snatcher

Versatile classics never go out of style. From year-round V-neck tees to weekend casuals, this week's James Perse sample sale will give your everyday wardrobe a much needed update. The California-based brand hosted a pre-sale event for press today and I took a sneak peek of the goods. Let's see if this sale is worth a Perse snatcher's time.

James Perse's minimal basics filled up the floor of 260 Sample Sale and they were divided into 2 groups: men's & women's. In the women's section, I spotted lightweight tanks in pastels hues (perfect for summer getaways), classic white t-shirts, relaxed hoodies, striped tops, casual dresses, slouchy sweaters, utilitarian pants, and weekend shorts.

Perse collectors will be happy to know that EVERYTHING for both women and men were priced $100 and under. To give you some specifics, dresses were $65, knits were $45, long or short sleeve tees were $30, pants were $60, shirts were $60, skirts were $40, shorts were $40, and tanks were $15. As for men's, today's price list consisted of $50 graphic tees, $100 jackets, $60 pants, $40 polos, $50 sweat tops, $30 tees, and $40 shorts.

This week's James Perse sample sale officially begins tomorrow at 10am. If you're in need of basic staples, make sure to check out this sale. As for further markdowns, I will keep you posted as soon as I receive price updates.

  5. I went just as they opened this morning. The place was a madhouse. It amazes me that women bring their infant babies to sample sales. This is definitely not the venue for an infant. It is small and very cramped. It was really hard to shop with the sound of screaming babies. Having said that - the sale was not as much of a score as in the past. No samples rack with sample pricing. T shirts are $30 - kind of high IMO. The best deals were the tank tops @ $15 & shorts $40. But be careful at check out - I was charged $80 for the shorts and $20 for one tank. I was paying attention & it took the cashier a while to fix this. Most people have lots of items and don't notice they are being overcharged.

  7. Samples are priced no different than overstock :( while I won't pay 30$ for a t-shirt I am happy to pay 40$ for a skirt. Nice long sleeved tees, casual dresses, soft knots and cool sweaters. The clothes are just much more casual than other sampke sales in NY.
