*SAMPLE SALE* Sweet Wrapture

Did you know Diane von Furstenberg's iconic wrap dress turns 40 this year? So, what better way to celebrate this special occasion than by purchasing one at a bargain price at this week's DVF sample sale. The fabulous and fun fashion brand kicked off its summer bargain blowout and I stopped by their VIP preview early this morning. Oh what a sweet wrapture it was.

Whether it's a warm weather getaway or a boardroom meeting at the office, no closet is complete without one of Diane von Furstenberg's vibrant designs. And to get their hands on the label's signature prints, many dedicated fans gathered together in Midtown today.

Inside the 260 Sample Sale venue, the ambiance was serene. It felt like the calm before the storm. With only a handful of VIPs perusing the aisles, I was able to spot many DVF classics such as exotic print dresses, sweeping maxi skirts, and boho-luxe silk blouses. Sizes ranged from 0 to 14 for RTW and prices for cocktail frocks were $150, classic wraps were $100, and daytime dresses were $100.

In the midst of checking out the clothing section, a very friendly sales associate informed me that there were several sample racks full of leather jackets, outerwear, and print dresses in the back of the showroom. When I walked over to check it out, the five or so sample racks were swarming with eager bargain hunters grabbing what they could of the select inventory. Just like last year's sale, all samples were priced $50.

My next stop was at the accessories section. Though shoes were absent at today's sale, there were enough handbags, clutches, scarves, and small leather goods to go around. In the handbag section, clutches were available in Tonda, Sutra, and Lytton. As for larger carryalls, there were 440 Courier studded bag in black, Flirty crossbody in metallic, and On The Go totes in various prints and leathers. Prices for handbags ranged from $50 for canvases to $75 for clutches and $175 for large leather bags.

This week's DVF sample sale runs through Sunday and inventory will be replenished throughout the sale. If the past is any indication, further markdowns will take effect towards the end of the event. As always, the full price list from today's opening can be seen at the end of this article.
