Spotted at Century 21: Céline, Mulberry, Givenchy & More

A couple of weeks ago, a fellow Mizhattanite tweeted me these photos of several Mulberry bags she spotted while shopping at the Century 21 flagship in Lower Manhattan. It's been quite a while since I last visited this touristy shopping destination so I decided to cancel my weekend plans and head downtown to check out what kind of deals shoppers are able to get these days. Here's my report.

My first stop was at the women's designer clothing floor and I'd say the whole trip was off to a good start. As soon as I stepped off the escalator, I was greeted by Phoebe Philo's designs for Céline. There were around 20 pieces of Céline clothing on a single metal rack and I spotted silk blouses, leather trimmed collar shirts, tailored trousers, and slim fit sleeveless dresses. If you're wondering about prices, the printed lightweight blouse in the photo above was $799.97 (originally $1,765), the drape front sleeveless fuchsia top in the 1st photo below was $849.97 (originally $2,120), the gray wrap skirt in the 2nd photo below was $329, the textured sleeveless dress in the 3rd photo below was $599.97 (originally $1,385), and the pair of dark navy trousers in the 4th photo below were $429.97 (originally $960).

Women's handbags were situated on the ground floor and designer brands like Fendi, Mulberry, and Chloé were on display inside shiny glass cases. For Fendi fans, there were 2Jours in eggplant ($1,299.97) and fur. As for Chloé, I only found one Alice in purple. There were several varieties of Mulberry bags as well. Bayswater shoulders and Suffolk top handles were available in white, black, and navy. Suffolks were priced $1,229.97 while Bayswater shoulders were $1,399.97.

Since summer is in full swing, I couldn't resist browsing their sunglasses selection. I found several different styles of Lanvin and Miu Miu sunnies that were priced $80~$110. Prada and Tom Ford sunglasses were also available and priced $110 and $130, respectively.

My final stop was at the women's shoes in the adjacent building. Here, I found labels like Nina Ricci, Rochas, Lanvin, Aquazurra, Marc Jacobs, Jil Sander, Gianvito Rossi, Sergio Rossi, Miu Miu, Prada, Fendi, Givenchy, Burberry, and Dolce & Gabbana. While perusing the shoe section, I spotted a pair of colorful Aquazurra bow sandals for $139.98 (10th photo below), Givenchy metal cap toe pumps for $229.97 (11th photo below), Fendi kitten heel sandals for $349.97 (last photo below), Prada pointed toe silver pumps for $429.97 (12th photo below), Burberry wedge sandals for $359.97 (13th photo below), Marc Jacobs metallic sandals for $109.99 (14th photo below), and Sergio Rossi multi-strap sandals for $279.97 (15th photo below).

I'm not sure if going to Century 21 is part of your summer weekend activities but I thought I should share these findings with you just in case any of you are interested. Also, if you ever come across great bargains while shopping in NYC, feel free to let me know and I'll try to check them out and report on them. Happy shopping!

  1. Thanks for the report, Miz. While the Lincoln Square location's selection is no where as impressive as the downtown one, the crowd is much more civilized and not swamped by tourists seven days a week. I consistently see Lanvin and Fendi handbags there, and there were times when they even have Chanel! (not the classics of course) I also find the pricing on their designer shoes and sunglasses to be quite competitive. They have really good discounts during their semi annual sales where shoes are often discounted with an extra 33% or more.

Don't forget to join their Loyalty program if you're making a sizable purchase. I think you get $20 for every $1000 spent, but they periodically have double points promotions.

  2. Century 21 always has random upscale finds. I recent purchased gorgeous white platform Celine heels that were featured on the 2012 runway. They were originally $900 and were priced at C21 for $300. I've gotten countless compliments and it feels great to have such an amazing find for an outstanding price.
