*SAMPLE SALE* Going Crewazy

After days of feasting on Thanksgiving turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, yam, and other holiday dishes, I felt the desperate need to get my mind and body back on track. And this week's bi-annual J.Crew sample sale seemed like a good place to start since shopping is my go-to cardio. So I dropped by during today's F&F hours and tried to burn a few holiday calories while getting some holiday shopping done. So without further ado, let's go Crewazy~!

Today's J.Crew preview was filled to the brim with the label's current and past seasons merchandise. Since I was in the market for a new pair of everyday flats, I headed straight to the back where the shoe offerings were on display. Racks were organized by size with 5 through 11 all accounted for. I spotted several pairs that are currently being sold at J.Crew stores. I saw Elsie pumps in suede, Dulci scalloped kitten heels, Valentina patent pumps, Martina patent wedges, Kiki ballet flats, Harper scalloped flats, Harper patent flats, Cleo smoking slippers, Sophie glitter loafers, Dix booties, and Field boots. Prices were identical to their sale in June of this year. Flats were $65, heels were $100, and boots were $130.

From winter basics to the perfect high/low mix separates, the women's apparel section was very well stocked. Some of the highlights included chateau parkas, stadium-cloth cocoon coats, double-cloth lady day coats, mixed cable sweaters, Jackie cardigans, striped breton tops, schoolboy blazers, tweed jackets, ochre floral pants, metallic origami skirts, and gilded floral skirts. To give you a few price points, dresses were $70, wool coats were $150, office blazers were $120, down jackets were $60, cashmeres were $65 & $90, cotton tops were $35, and lounge wear was $20.

Per usual, the jewelry section (comprised of many sparkly statement necklaces, bejeweled bracelets, dazzling earrings, bridal headbands, and a few stylish sunnies) was located adjacent to the checkout counter. Prices started from $5 for hair accessories to $60 for embellished necklaces. Other accessories such as handbags (totes, crossbodys, clutches, and shoulder bags), hats, scarves, and belts were also ripe for the picking at today's sale. Bags were priced $20~$130 while the rest were $10~$20.

In the Crewcut section, I found a nice selection of down jackets, coats, cashmere sweaters, printed tees, colorful dresses, and tons of stripes for your little ones. As for markdowns, prices ranged from $15 to $50.

After viewing everything at 260, I dropped by the men's sale situated a few blocks down at 225 Fifth Ave. The venue was neatly organized with merchandise which included tailored fit suits, down coats, casual shirts, cozy sweaters, basic trousers, suede oxfords, ties, and more.

I'm sure many of you already know that J.Crew is currently offering a special Cyber Monday deal. While a few items were marked higher than their in-store prices, there were still plenty of items that were cheaper at this sample sale. When you shop tomorrow, make sure to bring your smartphone with you to do some comparison shopping. Also, there was no changing area available at the venue so dress accordingly.
