*SAMPLE SALE* Jimmy Choo

The month of May is just around the corner and you all know what that means, right ladies? It's time to assemble New York City's stiletto sample sale trifecta! This time around, British footwear brand Jimmy Choo has the honor of starting off this euphoric run of discount shoe shopping festivities. The invite I received states the sale will take place at the label's usual haunt at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea. As with any JC sample sale, the event starts off as a private F&F affair but, sample sale veterans will know, the doors do quietly open to the public on the last day. The sale merchandise will include women's and men's shoes, bags, small leather goods, sunglasses, and other accessories at up to 90% off. Again, it's not a 100% guarantee the brand will graciously extend their invite to non-invitees but I will make doubly sure to keep all my fellow Mizhattanites updated on the matter. In the meantime, take a refresher course by reading the full Mizhattan report from their last sale: November '14.

Where: Metropolitan Pavilion, 123 W. 18th St. (bet. 6th & 7th Ave.)

When: Tuesday, May 5th, 11am~6pm
Wednesday, May 6th, 8am~4pm

I'm not re-selling. I actually shop for people who read this blog and don't live in NYC. They would also love to have the opportunity to shop these sample sales. I don't buy extra stock. I actually shop the sale for them.

  3. I don't want to read your ads, lets keep this as a place to discuss the actual sales. And keep the classifieds section off this site. Not the place for it and so tacky..and if you buy it and then sell it to someone, then yes, you are re-selling it. You get paid more than the price of the stuff. Just marketed differently.

  4. Let's try to reach a happy medium, ladies.

It looks as though She Shops is starting out on a new business and as such we should all be supportive of her new venture. It's not easy trying to start a business and we should applaud her for her effort.

That being said, I ask that She Shops restrain from posting her business on all the sample sale articles that are published. I think your fellow Mizhattanites now are fully aware that you're here to help those who can't make it to these sales. If they would like to utilize your services, they will know where to find your contact.

    Do we have an understanding?

    1. Today's sale is supposed to be invite only but as always you can try your luck. Last year their door policy was pretty relaxed around lunch time.

  15. I'm there right now. The selection is unimpressive to be perfectly honest. I see lots of repeats from previous years. The sort of styles you expect to see on the second day marked down to $100 or less. Most patent items have some kind of blemish or stain but are not priced accordingly. Shoes range from 34-42.5 with the best selection starting at 39.5 and larger. If you're lucky to find your size there are fur trimmed or shearling boots, runway shoes with jewels or floral appliqué but otherwise it's the same boring patent or glitter wedges/pumps/sandals.
Not sure what the wait is like now but before I went up there were separate lines for those with invites and general public.

    1. How about small size section? a lot 34 and 35s?

    2. were there any slip on sneakers?

      Delete
    3. Didn't see any slip on sneakers. Size 34-34.5 table is almost bare, maybe 10 shoes total. 35-35.5 is much better in comparison, lots of heels, a few boots and flats.

    2. first off, a big thank you, mizhattan, for guiding me through my first ever sample sale! another thanks (or maybe a 'no thanks' from my wallet) for helping me purchase my very first pair of choos (or 4, whatever)!

as i mentioned, when i got there at about 3pm, the line was about 30 deep but it moved very quickly. i probably waited no more than 15-20 min. they were letting 5 in at a time. this was the no invite list, but a few people went straight for the door so i'm guessing they had invites.

i've had my eye on the metallic glittery platforms for my upcoming wedding but when i got inside, the 37s were in pretty beat up shape. also, i wear a US7 but i was fluctuating between 37 and 37.5, so depends on the style. i grabbed a paper bag and threw in everything that caught my eye and tried them on later (as per miz's previous sample sale survival guide).

to be honest, i was disappointed at first because the selection wasn't very good for my size. a lot of the same kind of cork wedges and heavy mules that i wasn't into. but i hovered around for a while and was able to snatch up some returns from sales people and other shoppers. found some basic nude and blacks and also glittery pumps, wedges, and heels.

btw i noticed the volume of shoes for 39 and 39.5 was double any other size! the larger bags were pretty picked over, but there was a good selection of the small evening bags (although i didn't think they were a great deal imo). the small leather goods selection was pretty limited too. although lots of scarves and belts still. i asked a rep and she said they don't have much of these accessories to restock for tomorrow but some of the shoes would be refilled. good luck!

anyone want to stalk the manolo sale with me? lol

    3. Wow, thank you for your comprehensive reporting! Great job scouting out the returns. That's sample sale veteran skills, right there. Double congrats on your upcoming nuptials!!

  19. I would love to stalk the manolo sale hehe, i thought it was invite only? that line must be really long.. I waiting 2 1/2 hours until I got into the JC sale. I was disappointed as must of the shoes looked used and had scuffs.

  20. If you can wear sky high heels and pay 300 for basics - it is okey, otherwise not worthy a trip: I've seen 1/3 of these shoes 2 years ago here. poor selection with demanding pricing. No interesting bags or belts. Interesting men loafers, but only size 43.
did not even open my valet.
