*SAMPLE SALE* Paul Andrew

What's your lunchtime agenda look like for today? How about grabbing some fresh crisp salad with a side of yummy designer stilettos? Last year's CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner, Paul Andrew, is kicking off his 2-day only sample sale today, so what better way to spend your lunch break than to discount shop at a designer shoe sale? When I attended his sale last November, prices ranged from $150 to $350 for overstock productions while sample shoes were marked down to $50. But I also found sizes to be limited. If you're size 37, you're in luck! I'll be tweeting from the sale later this afternoon but here's a batch of photos (here & here) from the last year's event just so you can get acquainted. Summer sexy sandals, here we come!

Where: 41 W. 58th St. (bet. 5th & 6th), #2A

When: Wednesday, May 27th, 11am~7:30pm
Thursday, May 28th, 11am~7:30pm

UPDATE: Photos from inside: here, here, & here

  1. Hey Miz, any word on Modo Eyewear? The four-eyed among us are rubbing our paws in anticipation...

  2. Prices and selection were amazing but sizing unfortunately not so much. Majority of the shoes are 37 but they run 1/2 size small and a little narrow. I'm a true 37 but my feet are slightly wide so out of hundreds of shoes I only found 3 pairs that fit me. If on the other hand you're a 36.5 you just hit the jackpot! Only other sizes represented were 39 (small section to the right of the register) and 40. Prices start at $50 for samples marked with a black dot. Pink is $80, orange $150, green $225.

If you fit into the afforementioned size groups......run! It's that good. Popular styles are going quick and stock is slowly depleting although there is still a huge selection.

  3. Sorry to repeat a comment I posted on Racked, but in case it can help anyone:

This was the most amazing shoe sale ever, far better than their first one. Prices were $50, $80, $150, and $250. Sizes were predominantly 37 (maybe 6-8 racks), about 3-4 racks each of 39 and 40 (a rack contains 4 shelves each, I think), but beware: sizing runs very small. There were some $1000+ shoes marked for $50 or $80. The $250 shoes were mostly boots, or had fur/exotic skins. Fantastic, fantastic sale if you are lucky enough to have the right sized feet. Loads of things from current seasons. Your best bet is to look for black ($50) and pink ($80) dots.

    1. Also, $250 boots included some crazy amazing snakeskin boots that retailed for $2000+, definitely a fantastic deal.

    2. Hi MadameX,

I agree. Even the designer's signature wing-detailed pumps and flats were $80. It was a great sale!

  4. I must echo all the gushing. If you are any of the 3 sizes then you must check it out. Most of the shoes are 50 or 80. It was a fabulous sale.

    1. There was no overstock, only samples, so my best guess is no, they only have what was out :/

  7. I was overstock but I also don't think they will restock.

    1. sorry for the misinformation! I thought there was only samples because I didn't see doubles but I guess that's not how logic works.

  10. Does anyone know if it still makes sense to head downtown tomorro if you are a true size 7 (narrow feet).

  13. I could cry to have missed this yesterday! Anyone there today see any 39s?

  14. I went at around 7pm last night. Not a lot of 39s left but they had a few of those winged heels in 39. More options in a size 40 and since these shoes run small they might work for you! 37s had the most to choose from. I got a pair of snakeskin sandals for $80- super excited to wear them!

    1. Ahh, jealous. I'm sure they are gorgeous!

Ending up getting boots in 40, since they do run small! I was seriously cooing over so many of the shoes; wish I had gotten there last night.

For anyone whose thinking of stopping by, there were only a couple of us, and there are still a TON of 37s. Definitely, definitely make the trip if you're a size 7, 6.5.

There are only a handful of 39s in less-than-fantastic condition, but there is a fair number of 40s.

  16. I got there around 11:30am. Not many left, still around 2-3 racks for 37, 1 for 39 and 2-3 for 40. Most shoes are in good conditions. If you are interested in exotic leather, mainly snakeskin, there are a couple of them for $250. The iconic styles are available for blue, green and grey, but most of them are kitty heels. I bought a pair of black satin open toe pumps for $50, and one of the lovely cashier said it was her favorite. :P

  17. I got there at about 2pm. A fair amount of shoes of all styles for 37 left, and very few for 39. The prices are really awesome. Thankfully they do run small, and I found a pair of 39.5 Aphrodite heels in black and azure that fit quite nicely, though I'm taking them to the cobbler to get the back buckle strap altered smaller. (I'm a 39 at the absolute biggest.)

I'd say go if you're a 37 or 40, otherwise stay home. I wish I were a proper 40, there were a few pairs of feather insanity that would have been amazing. Sigh, the shoes that got away...

  18. Coming back to reiterate what a great sale this was - one of the best in a while. Stunning shoes at amazing prices. I took a look, hoping against hope, that someone wasn't already trying to flip them on ebay. Lo and behold, an unfortunate reseller from Astoria already has several pairs listed. And to add insult to injury, this person didn't even have the forethought to remove the pink dots from the soles, clearly showing that she purchased them from the sample sale and is immediately reselling them. It's this kind of behavior, especially obvious to a small brand that generously offered it's shoes at a tremendous discount, that will ruin these sales for everyone. Thank you Paul Andrew for the beautiful shoes.

  19. Thank so much Miz for posting this sale! After striking out at Jimmy Choo, Aquazzura and Manolo, I went to the sale after work yesterday and had an awesome experience. The staff and shoppers were all lovely and I scored two fantastic pairs of shoes! Looking forward to the next one :)
