DeleteGucci's yearly sale has a long history of never opening to the public and always being 90% off. The only one's saying that it might open to the public are readers, not Miz.
I for one APPRECIATE all the post Miz puts up. Even on sales I haven't been able to get into.
There is not even a "silver" (or did you mean sliver, English professor) of a chance the public will be allowed in. Why even promote the event? It's just cheap hype.

ReplyDeleteI work a block away and just walked by on way back from lunch. It is still closed to the public. The people you see waiting in line across the street are all on invite list and waiting for their turn.
DeleteThe sale is still private. So I came with my cousin this morning at 7. You not only have to be on the list, they are checking your id. Not many women's shoes left but come if you are on the list. Not really a line now.

ReplyDeleteThey did not say if it will open to the public tomorrow and if they did restock, it was very minimal. The selection and style in bags to me were limited. I am sure if it opens to the public, Miz will certainly put it out there which I hope she does for folks.

That's why people dressed in non-name-brand clothing were hoarding multiple handbags of the same kind? I guess they are not purchasing for resell? (sarcasm intended). Gucci's bottom line has been slumping in the past few years. Even their online Gucci sales have been amazing, 50% to 60% off. So, your statement is super inaccurate.
DeleteGucci has been heading in the same direction as Coach. Years ago, you couldn't even get a Coach bag on sale. Nowadays, the handbags are super cheap. No brand is immune.
Ha! Hermes has open sample sales at least yearly. As a matter of fact, one just passed.

The sample sale has past season items and is limited to ugly canvas bags. The regular sale had more desirable handbags marked down from $3K-$4K

DeleteVersace was just 90% off, Burberry is usually 90% off. Jimmy choo has many items 90% off. Fendi has most of their stuff 90% off.
Actually most of the above brand I just mentioned will have their sample sales with item 95% off too.
And the left over items are not going to be burned, they will be sold off at the online sale next month, sent off to choice outlets and sold off to discount department stores like TJ Maxx and the Rack.
When and Where is the Burberry Sale ? Do you think the Gucci Leftovers are at the outlet at good prices ?
