See by Chloé is the hip younger sibling to highly coveted Parisian brand Chloé. The diffusion line is known for carefree glamour, easy everyday staples, and is the youthful fashionista's answer to French flair. Lucky for New Yorkers, the label is holding a sample sale in Midtown this week with discounts of up to 70% off on the contemporary brand's signature styles. The event officially opens tomorrow but I was able to get an early viewing of the goods. So, without further ado, let's see what's on offer!
The sale organizers for this week's See by Chloé sample sale gave me an early peek at the discounted merchandise yesterday. The marked down offerings (situated on the right as soon as you get off the elevator) were neatly organized and ready to go for tomorrow's opening.
Womenswear and a very limited assortment of handbags await to be taken home by bargain shoppers. Sizes in the RTW section ranged from 34 through 44 and everything was 70% off the tag. As for the selection, they included daytime dresses, cocktail frocks, printed skirts, fall outerwear, sweaters, t-shirts, pants, shorts, jeans and much more. Upon closer inspection of some of the pieces and their respective price tag, I found abstract print long sleeve dresses priced $319 (2nd photo below), printed shirtdresses priced $276 (3rd photo below), tiered ruffle dresses priced $273 (4th photo below), green belted sleeveless frocks priced $271 (6th photo below), dark gray collarless jackets priced $265 (8th photo below), logo print t-shirts priced $40 (11th photo below), fuchsia lightweight sweaters priced $133 (13th photo below), bow embellished sweatshirts priced $97 (14th photo below), butterfly print skirts priced $136 (16th photo below), and jeans priced $115.
The only accessories that were part of the sale were four handbags that can be seen in the last photo below. Prices weren't prepared when I dropped by yesterday but, according to the sale organizers, they will be somewhere between $250 and $350. So if you are interested in any of these four bags, my MizAdvice is to be one of the first shoppers to show up when the doors open tomorrow morning.
In addition to See by Chloé, the venue also had several other European brands (apparel and handbags) that were in the midst of being set up. I'm told items from these brands will also be available for shoppers tomorrow. As for restocking on See by Chloé, no new styles will be added to the sale but sizes on some items will be replenished. And on a final note, there is a possibility of further markdowns towards the end of the sale this weekend so it might be worth your while to drop by more than once if you want to score bigger deals on the leftovers.

Thanks for the report Miz! Now I know to skip this one ;) The prices are so much higher than the C21 sale this spring. I got the exact same bag for $100 and similar dresses for only $30-$50. Unless they do 80%-90% like at Westwood this sale isn't really worth it, especially with so many great sales coming up next week.
ReplyDeleteToday they also combined the other half of the showroom for balmain, cavailli, Westwood and gaultier. A lot was 90% off
ReplyDeleteBalmain prices were much lower then the H&M line.
Someone go and buy the military coat that I could not fit. Only $350 for the main line!
Wow, that's awesome! Thank you for letting everyone know!
Deletewhat was the size of the military coat?! and color? thank you!!
DeleteAs usual, you take the best photos. Even when I'm not drawn to the particular styles I always consider going because the clothes look so good in your photos. What camera do you use?
ReplyDeleteHi Vintage Snarker,
DeleteAww, thank you so much for your kind words! The photos are taken with just a mobile phone.
Got an email from the organizers, there are now additional discounts. From what I understand it's only on the other designers like Balmain and Gaultier with See by Chloe still just 70% off. Maybe someone who goes today can elaborate further?
ReplyDeleteNara: I just got back from the sale. The additional discounts were on Balmain/Gaultier/Costume National and they were amazing. Dresses were $69 (from $139), jackets and leather were $95 (from $195-249), Tops were $39, Pants were $35, and skirts $29.
DeleteYou seriously had to pick and choose what you really liked versus buying something because it was cheap. Left with a Balmain jacket and a Costume national dress for less than what one would pay for H&M x Balmain.
Appreciate the update!
DeleteWow! Sounds like an amazing deal! Thanks so much for your reply :) I'll try to go tomorrow, hopefully there'll be something left.
