*SAMPLE SALE* Go Frock Yourself

As the last month of the year, December culminates with plenty of holiday soirées and a New Year's Eve bash. And in that case, you'll need one or more eye-catching frocks to keep you in the spotlight. With that said, Alice and Olivia is here to your rescue with its frock-full sample sale. Yesterday evening, the brand held a soft opening for VIPs, press, and Gilt City ticket holders, and the venue (especially the sample racks) was buzzing with bargain-hungry mobs looking to score deals on this flirty fashion label's designs. But before you go frock yourself at this week's Alice and Olivia sample sale, make sure to read this review first for some important details.

The A&O sale truly has everything you need for this festive season. Feathers, sequins, pearl embellishments, metallics, beads, laces, silks, chiffons, satins...you name it, they had it. To go into details, women's apparel was basically divided into production overstock and samples. In the overstock section, everything was organized by size (XS/0 to L/10) and prices ranged from $39 to $299. Dresses, which were the absolute highlight of the event, were priced from $119 to $279 depending on the material and style. I especially loved the LillyAnne butterfly appliqéd dress, faux-pearl embellished mini dress, open-back lace mini dress, and intricately beaded sleeveless jersey dress. Although there were many gorgeous designs to choose from, some of you extreme deal seekers may not be too impressed with the price points as you can easily find similar discounts currently at department stores or online retailer The Outnet.

In addition to frocks, there were other standout items worth mentioning. They included a vibrant assortment of beaded evening jackets, sumptuous faux fur coats that any Kate Moss worshiper would die for, floor-length feather skirts, gold sequin party pants, fur-trimmed blazers, ballerina-inspired tulle skirts, furry leopard print jackets, and full length formal gowns. All of these items definitely put me in a party mood. As for prices, jackets were priced $149~$279 while skirts were marked down to $119~$279. Tops (blouses, shirts, and sweaters) were $79~$119, shorts were $79~$149, and gowns were $149~$299. You can see the full price list at the end of this article.

Sample racks, situated all the way in the back, had the best deals and it's no question you'll want to hit these first right after your coatcheck. With twelve racks of cocktail dresses, faux fur jackets, tops, and bottoms available for discount shoppers, markdowns ranged from $15 to $119 which is very similar to their last sale in June.

As far as accessories go, I spotted necklaces going for $39, gloves for $39, scarves for $49, handbags for $89~$109, and fur accessories for $99.

The sale opens at 9am today and will run through Sunday. If I hear of any price reductions, I will make sure to keep everyone updated via Twitter and in the comment section below.
