*SAMPLE SALE* Bone Up on the Details

The Rag & Bone winter sample sale kicked off today at Chelsea Market. I stopped by the brand's F&F hours this morning and checked to see what my first sample sale of 2016 had in store for me. So, if you are interested in attending, bone up on these details and see if the sale is worth your time.

If your New Year's resolutions happen to include giving your wardrobe a cool, contemporary makeover, this week's R&B sample sale will definitely help you check that resolution off your list. As usual, the sale had tons of inventory and consisted of both past and current seasons' merchandise. The bag section, especially, seemed better stocked than previous years with many different styles to choose from. Handbag offerings included large Pilot satchels, mini Pilot crossbodys, black Aston satchels, python-print Aston satchels, Bradbury flap hobos, Circle bags, and Enfield shoulder bags. Prices on these arm candies were $195 for small sizes and $275 for large. There were also small leather goods (wallets, card cases, and the like) available for $125.

The women's shoe section wasn't as impressive as the bags. Comprising mostly of booties and flats, I spotted a handful of the latest items currently selling on their e-store. For example, I saw Meli sneakers, Wyatt sandals, Ashford Moto boots, yellow Moto rain boots, Konrad Monk shoes, and Steele booties. Boots and heels were $225 while flats were $150. There was also a small selection of sample shoes (11th photo below) priced $95.

Moving onto womenswear, the sale held a total of 24 racks plus an enormous center table full of clothes. For the price-conscious shopper searching for RTW, you can rest assured that prices didn't change much from years past. Dresses were $150, sweaters were $135, pants & skirts were $125, jeans were $90, shirts & tops were $100, outerwear was $350, and leather styles were $300~$495. As for the lower-priced /JEAN line, dresses were $98, tees were $45, sweaters were $85, long-sleeve tops were $55, and outerwear was $250.

Per usual, men's merchandise was laid out on the lower level and consisted of RTW, shoes, and accessories. Shoes were going for $95~$225, shirts were $98, sweaters were $120, pants were $120, jackets were $250, and coats were $350.

The label's hats are a must-have accessory for any on-trend fashionista and they were plenty at this bargain event. A few designs that caught my eye included floppy Dunaways, Abbott fedoras, Faye cloches, wide brim fedoras, and more. Hats were marked down to $85. In addition to these fabulous headpieces, there were winter accessories like beanies, gloves, and scarves available as well.

Finally, it should be noted that the checkout line moved very slowly today so bring your patience with you if you decide to attend. In addition, I am told there will be a small restocking expected later this week but basically everything is pretty much out on the floor.

  5. I went yesterday to the Rag & Bone sample sale and I almost chocked at the price of the Frances pea coat they want 350.00 I purchased from Saks 208.00 Their sample pieces you have to wait on line while they make up the prices for the merchandise. A couple of their accessories were cheaper than saks, but I guess you really have to know your price point to see if these sample sales are really a bargain. I will wait for markdowns to see if its worth me going back. Disappointed.
