Help went to check out the Tory Burch sale first thing this morning. I got on line at around 10:30a and made it upstairs ar around 11am. Overall I thought it was a huge wast of time. The clothing and shoe selection was very limited and the prices were still a bit high my opinion. I went for the shoes only to find 15 styles to choose from all starting at around $90. The selection of ballet flats included the colors pink, beige and an ugly reptile print. No black ballets or any neutral color yiu would want to spend $125 on. Also yiu take a number,to look at the shoes and they were letting in about 10 people at a time which made the wait for shoes probably a goodm30-40 minutes once you are upstairs. Overall really diappointing.

DeleteThe Tory sale is a bust nowadays. Outlet sells the same items for about the same price. Conversely, Century21 has Reva flats and lots of Tory at about $90 as well. Memorial Day weekend, the outlet offered 40% off storewide, bringing the flats to even less. I wish I could say Clothingline at least offers some limited edition items, but they sadly other stores (and even the outlet) have better items.

ReplyDeleteI went to the Versace sample sale on the first day and they had a good selection. There were definitely some loud pieces but I also found some minimalistic classic pieces. They reduced the price today and I wouldn't be surprised if they do on the last day.

DeleteI went to the Alice & Olivia sample sale yesterday. The resellers snuck in with the VIP people and wiped out mostly the samples at 3000.00. Then they were going back for 2nd digs when a guy who was in charge of running the sale yelled out this information at the resellers. The stock on the first day wasn't that great. They had various types of handbags and totes that were reasonably priced. No shoes. The price point was a little cheaper than last year giving that major retailers are running sales.

ReplyDeleteI stopped by today a little before closing and the selection was decent: plenty of dresses and tops and T shirts as well as shorts (summer wardrobe basically). All Sizes were available for the most part (except for some articles where it was just size 0/2. Women merchandise was spread across two rooms and men was in one room. Prices were reduced from opening day.

DeleteSunglasses-only sample sales are hard to come by. Usually they are part of the accessories section at a sample sale rather than a standalone event. However, there is a Selima Optique sample sale currently going on at 7 Bond Street. They are offering up to 80% off on designer shades.
