*SAMPLE SALE* P&L Report

Now that summer is winding down, I'm sure many of you can use a little pick-me-up for your skin to recover from all those sun-drenched days and get ready for the drier, colder months. The good news is Peach & Lily, purveyor of K-beauty products, is here to help get your skin and makeup routine a much-needed boost with their second annual sample sale that's happening today-only in the Garment District. As the K-beauty trend continues to thrive here in the states, the e-commerce retailer's business is booming, but what about their sample sale? Read this P&L report and find out.

A big crowd of beauty bargain hunters gathered bright and early this morning in front of the Peach & Lily sale venue. The event got underway at 8am and by the time the doors opened, there was well over 150 people in queue. Inside, there was a mandatory bag check and then each shopper was given a shopping tote to carry their purchases home in. As expected, the ambiance was somewhat chaotic and scenes of hoarding/stockpiling were plentiful.

Stickers were placed on each item and corresponded to the following price points: $3, $6, $10, $15, $22, or $35. The biggest steal, ironically, was the most expensive item at today's sale which was Lady&Skin's Yesulham Signature Cream for $35 (originally $296). Mind you, these were flying off the tables as shoppers knew the great deal they were getting. I also spotted in the $35 category, Shangpree's S-Energy Long Lasting Concentrated Serum (originally $120).

The second most expensive tier of items at today's sale were Lady&Skin's Royal Gold Snail Cream, Shangpree's Gold Black Pearl Hydrogel Eye Mask, Shangpree's Gold Premium Modeling Rubber Mask sets, Lady&Skin's Blooming White Oxybright Overnight Mask, The Lotus' Essence With Lotus Leaf, and Lady&Skin's La Vie En Rose Night Cream. These skincare products were $22 each.

As for mid-tiered prices, the $15 category included Be The Skin's Botanical Nutrition Power Toner, Be The Skin's Botanical Pore Toner, Be The Skin's Botanical Pore Serum, The Lotus' Essence Lotion With Lotus Leaf, The Lotus' Leaf & Aloe Calming Serum, Rose By Dr. Dream's Rose Bubble Clay Pack, May Coop's Raw Moisturizer, Tosowoong's Timeshift First Essence AP Therapy, LAGOM's Cellus Sun Gel, and KICHO's Sheep Oil Cream.

Products in the $10 category consisted of LAGOM's Cellup Gel To Water Cleanser, The Lotus' Lotus Leaf & Lemon Mist, Aromatica's Tea Tree Balancing Emulsion, Primera's Essential Massage Cream, Aromatica's Orange Blossom Toner, Cremorlab's Enriched Moisture, Caolion's Pore Original Pack, Caolion's T-zone Pore Spot Serum, Twenty Four / Seven's Honey Dual Lip Treatment, May Coop's White Water Cleanser, Cremorlab's Snow Falls Whipping Cleanser, Cremorlab's Hydro Plus Snow Falls Essential Mist, Mizon's Pore Tightening Lotion, Be The Skin's Botanical Nutrition Power Cream, Be The Skin's Purifying White Waterful Cream, and Rose By Dr. Dream's Mild Natured Powder Cleanser.

Hair and additional skincare products such as Aromatica's Natural Tinted Sun-cream, Caolion's White Cake Cool Water Cream Stick, Caolion's Pore Original Serum, Mizon's Apple Smoothie Peeling Gel, and more were $6, while lip glosses, lip tints, and mascaras from Clio and Peripera were $3.

The founder and CEO of Peach & Lily, Alicia Yoon, was on site this morning and I found her giving out beauty consultations to anyone in need, which I thought was very generous. The sale ends at 10pm today, but even with a time limit policy set in place (each group was allowed 20 mins inside), expect a super long wait if you plan on dropping by during your lunch break or after work.

  1. The trade off here is if waiting less time to shop less time. Ask yourself if waiting an hour is worth shopping 20 mins of 100+ beauty products.

    1. It was not for me. To be allowed him and then told abruptly to get out and your time is up was a complete surprise. The staff was rushing people to get out, and no one likes being sprung with the news that they have to leave so suddenly. Why do you even do bag check? LOL

    1. I saw Mizon's Correct Combo Lip Gloss in a few different colors this morning. There were also Peripera's Tint Marker, Peripera's Cushion Lips, Clio's Art Lipstick, and Clio's Virgin Kiss Lipnicure.

  4. There aren't any lines, but not much product is left, especially the higher tiered $35 & $22 are all gone. No limit on shopping time anymore either. Still worth it to take a look.

    1. It's an even split between very popular and obscure.

  6. I was there right when it opened and part of the first group to enter. The makeup I saw was mostly in a set color for the style - like each style would just have one color out. I think it was the same for lip glosses, but I didn't spend too much time in the section. This might have been because they were unpacking one box at a time and the contents of each box are presumably all the same color.

The only lip glosses I picked up were the 24/7 Honey Lip tint, which is a moisturizing balm and honey oil combo.

  7. Thank you Miz for the advance notice last week!!!! I was in group 1 and the people working there were shouting for everyone to go to bagcheck because we all ran inside. It was our fault and the staff was very nice. Girls were taking everything in sight ..I came out spending 100$ more than I wanted but I am happy.

  9. I was in the first group in and have to say I felt really rushed. I wasn't told that we only had 20 mins to shop so I spent some time taking to a few of the nice sales ladies about the products and asking questions on some items that I was not familiar with and the next thing I know I was told to leave. They weren't even all set up yet. I saw product that wasn't out before being put out at the time the first group was told to leave.

If I had known I was only allowed 20 mins - including the bag check time - which took like 5 mins - so 15 mins to ask and shop I wouldn't have bothered to go or at least not bothered with asking questions.

Prices were close to their last online sale. Without the rude rush.
