Shopping for extravagant jewelry or timepieces may not sit on top of a lot of people's to-do list for September, but that didn't stop Chopard-holics from lining up to grab deals at the Swiss luxury brand's NYC sample sale today. After all, as much as New Yorkers are blessed with sample sales, the truth is that finding steep discounts from prestige labels like Chopard doesn't come around too often. So, after a long relaxing Labor Day weekend, I decided to stop by Chopard's fall bargain event during this back-to-work week.
When I arrived at 9am sharp, a small group of shoppers had already formed a line on the staircase inside Soiffer Haskin. After waiting 30 minutes (there was a snail paced 1-in, 1-out door policy), I made my way inside the sale where a bunch of shiny vitrines with shimmery jewels inside greeted each shopper.
Discounts were pretty similar when compared to Chopard's last sale two years ago. The merch at today's event ranged from 40% to 70% off, and each item was tagged with a color sticker. Black dots were 40% off, green dots were 50% off, purple dots were 55% off, yellow dots were 60% off, blue dots were 65% off, and red dots were 70% off.
In terms of inventory, the sale carried large pendant necklaces, diamond encrusted watches, chronograph watches, charm bracelets, gold cuffs, stud earrings, drop earrings, cocktail rings, handbags, evening clutches, sunglasses, wallets, scarves, writing instruments, and more. You'll get a better feeling of the inventory from the photos below.
If you're in the market for something sparkly to upgrade your fall wardrobe, this week's Chopard's sample sale runs through Saturday. There is a mandatory ID check upon entry, so make sure to take one with you if you decide to swing by.

Hi Miz,
ReplyDeleteAs always, thank you for the update. Do you recall the price points on sunglasses and bags. TIA
Hi Fina L,
DeleteEach item was marked down individually, so I couldn't check prices on every single item. But roughly speaking, sunglasses were around $200~$400. Handbags were mostly 40~50% off retail. Hope that helps. Thank you for reading!
Hi Miz - what was the price range on drop earrings? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAs everything was individually priced and there was a lot of merch on site, I couldn't get an exact price range on everything. I wish I could but it was impossible. However, I did see a pair of diamond C earrings for $5,700, so I hope that helps.
DeleteWas one of the first in line, looked at a few earrings and they ranged from $1,750 (for the simpler designs without pave diamonds) all the way up to $7,000 (think diamonds everywhere). There was a great selection! Although, not sure if there will be any left (people were snatching things up like hotcakes)! Most of the earrings were in the 60-65% off range.
DeleteThank you so much for filling us in!
DeleteHi Miz, were the sunglasses only women? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteHi Pat J,
DeleteNo, there was a small selection of men's sunglasses as well.
Hi Miz, a question a little out of topic.. Do you know the brand that makes gold and diamond evil eye bracelets? I remember reading about this designer who does only expensive evil eye jewelry, but can't remember the name. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOff the top of my head, Sydney Evan and Ileana Makri are the two brands that come to my mind. Perhaps other Mizhattanites could chime in?
Deletehi mizz,
ReplyDeletedo you recall seeing any mens watches? thanks
Yes, there were lot of men's watches.
DeleteWhat are the price ranges for men's and ladies wstches please?
ReplyDeleteFYI, I just got an e-mail from Soiffer Haskin saying that there have been further reductions on select items....!!!! So tempting...should I go again!?! I probably won't bother getting there early like yesterday though.
ReplyDeleteAny happy earrings or necklace left? What is the price point after discount?
