*SAMPLE SALE* AW '16

Among the many sample sales that are happening this week (Cire Trudon, Charlotte Olympia, Dsquared2, Rachel Zoe, Shoshanna, and more), Alexander Wang's 2016 shopping spree just might be the highlight event of them all. That's because, not only does the brand continue to remain sizzling hot amongst the trendsetting fashion crowd, this year marks the designer's first sample sale in two years (time sure does fly!). With the grand opening scheduled to kick off at 9am tomorrow, I was able to catch an early glimpse of the discounted offerings before the inevitable hysteria hits. So, if you plan on braving what will be a chaotic sale, here's what you can expect at AW's AW '16 sample sale.

Even at this afternoon's private F&F sale, the ambiance inside was already abuzz with bargain hunters hurriedly grabbing as many of AW's goodies as possible--this was especially apparent in the handbag section (no surprise here). To start with some great news, when it comes to the designer's bags, shoppers will find a wider selection and better pricing than the last sale in 2014. For instance, Wang's mainstays like Rocco, Brenda, Emile, Marion, Alpha, Diego, and Prisma were available in classic colors like black, white, red, and latte. Furthermore, prices have actually gone down this time around. Yay! Small bags are now $199, mediums are $249, and large bags are $299.

Tomorrow, after you're done snatching up your three bags (yep, there's a purchase limit), my MizAdvice is that you check out the footwear situated in the back of the main floor. That's because, whether it's knee-high boots or pool slides, all shoes are marked down to only $99. Some of the notable styles include Lovisa pumps, Devon espadrilles, Jac slides, Teresa sandals, Evelin sandals, and Emmanuel boots.

Compared to the shoes and bags, women's RTW wasn't as appealing in my opinion. But still, there were some deals to be had if you searched well enough. Items from the brand's Fall '15 line were priced as marked, while older season pieces were priced between $109 and $299. The apparel selection also featured products from T by Alexander Wang. There were skirts and pants for $59, sweaters for $79, dresses for $89 & $109, and outerwear for $119 & $199. Don't forget to check out the full price list at the end of this article.

The men's merchandise was displayed on the lower level. There were 18 racks of apparel as well as a limited selection of footwear ($99). To give you a quick roundup of markdowns, tops were $99~$129, bottoms were $99, outerwear was $249, and leathers were $299. In addition, men's T by Alexander Wang included tops for $39~$79, bottoms for $59, outerwear for $149, and leather pieces for $199.

Finally, it's worth noting that there are no changing rooms at this event. Therefore, you will definitely want to wear something appropriate if you want to try things on in the view of strangers. Also, after speaking with staff, I've been informed items will be restocked daily. Double yay!
