*SAMPLE SALE* Showing Skin

The epitome of uptown chic, Nancy Gonzalez's fans are often described as posh ladies who lunch. Her unique, bold, and highly sumptuous designs are known to last a lifetime. Today, I had the privilege to preview their annual sample sale held at the Flatotel in Midtown. There I found a huge array of the exotic-skin virtuoso's clutches, totes, hobos, and shoulder bags all available for purchase at tomorrow's public opening.

If you remember reading my review from last year's Nancy Gonzalez sample sale, you already know that Gonzalez fans can get quite aggressive at these events. With generous discounts offered on extraordinary handbags, it's normal to find shoppers hoarding and acting quite feisty. Though today's VIP preview sale wasn't as bad as last year, a huge crowd of ladies filled up the 5th floor showroom ready to hunt for exotics.

Let's start with prices. Clutches were $700 and small bags were $1,300. Medium bags were $1,500 while large bags were $1,700. XL bags were priced $1,800, furs $1,000, and mixed medias were $800. The majority of pieces I picked up were priced over $1,300. Despite these sky high prices, many ladies were grabbing heaps of bags at a time. And here's why. The merchandise was top-notch! Not only were they in excellent condition, handbags in bold colors & classic shapes were simply STUNNING! The crocodile magazine tote & the gathered crocodile shoulder bag that are currently being sold FULL PRICE(!) at Bergdorf Goodman were available at this sale for a sufficient amount less.

This sale will officially kick off tomorrow at 10am and will run until Thursday. The sale organizers plan to replenish everyday except for the last day of the sale. I don't know what you have in mind for this Mother's Day, but if your budget can manage, a piece of Nancy Gonzalez will definitely brighten any mother's day.
