  1. I think their extra 50% or 60% off sale prices online is sometimes better than their sample sale.

    1. Oh sorry, I meant Calypso's! They have an online 'sample sale' at 60% off sale prices sometimes or usually it's 50% off the sale price which ends up being 70% off or more usually.

  2. Miz, as always your sale updates are invaluable. Bought some amazing cocktail dresses and sample pieces from the Christian Siriano sale today. Dresses were $150 down from more than $1000 each, and each piece was a work of art. Thank you!!

    1. I was there and you didn't miss much. Very small selection and most clothes were way more than what is quoted above. For shoes, it's for his Payless collection and once again very small selection.

    2. I found the piece I wanted in my size but it was still $324 and I couldn't justify it. There's a good selection though. Everything in the store is part of the sale. Prices as marked. There was a decent range of sizes. You might not find the item you want in your size but you should be able to find at least a couple of things in your size which is more than I can say for a lot of sales. Prices are kind of high though for a sample sale. Some of the ballgowns were still $500 or $900.

  4. Yeah my friends said all of the shoes have the label "christian siriano gold for payless". Of course the "payless" is in small print. The interesting thing is that the manager there told my friend that the shoes she picked up were $600 shoes. I noticed his website sells "exclusive runway" shoes.. but if you look at the pictures, it also says "for payless." What gives? Why do they have the "payless" label if they're not "payless"? Or.. are they? My friend said she saw shoes there that she's seen on the runway pics.

    1. His payless gold collection is always featured on the runway - check the spring 2013 new york fashion week show and you will see all the styles from the sale there, some from the spring 2012 show. Not all are then produced for payless stores but it is for the payless brand.

Hence why his website sells these runway shoes for $98.

These are payless shoes - just not all are sold in payless stores.

    2. That's so deceiving! The manager @ the sale specifically told my friend that the shoes she picked up were $600 shoes. Unreal.

    3. ohh. He told me the same thing. He also said that the shoes were made in Italy and leather.

Glad I stuck to the clothes. The selection early in the sale was great in my size.

  9. Stopped by Ports 1961 this morning. Its worth a look if you are a size 0-4. The cut of the clothes runs on the small side so you really need to try on every style. There is not alot left but the prices are great for the quality. From what i gather there was more stock on the first day and there's was no restocking either. T

    1. Hi MsK,

Unfortunately, I don't plan on going this time. There usually is no line to get it. Previous sales had discounts of 40%~60% depending on the item. Selections included 18K cables, silver goods, rings, watches, and other merchandise. Check out my report for their last sample sale in August 2014: CLICK HERE

    2. I went last year on the first day after work and waited over 2 hours and when I left there was still a line....maybe its better to go a later day then?

  12. Went to David Yurman and John Hard. No lines. Bought a ring at 50% off and a oak pendant at 60. The Naga John Hardy bracelet at 65 was so worth it for me. It was fab going to a sample sale without lines!
