This week, two prestigious fashion houses, Alexander McQueen & Balenciaga, play host to "hush-hush" invite-only sample sales for PPR employees, PR execs, & fashion industry insiders at their corporate offices. Balenciaga is currently hosting theirs at 542 W. 22nd St. Shoppers lucky to find their way inside, will find the right side wall near the entrance filled with boxes upon boxes of shoes. Furthermore, the far wall which wraps around the room is COMPLETELY lined with discounted RTW. My fair assessment would be that there was tons of merchandise.
As for Alexander McQueen, their sub rosa sample sale will be located at 430 W. 14th St. and will start tomorrow. I'm told by my contact inside McQueen that the "savings on accessories & RTW will make any fashionista smile". Finally, I will stress that the possibility of getting into these two invite-only affairs is extremely low. But I also believe that with risk comes reward. So if you want to take a chance, I wish you the best of luck!

Can anyone go to the Balenciaga sale without an invite?
ReplyDeleteIt is by invite-only and appointment-only (you have to be there by a certain designated time). If you're willing, you can try your luck at sneaking in as there was only one rather bored employee at the door with a clipboard.

DeleteI have something similar so would sell it back for $700. ( $46.75 more than the price I bought it for just for the hassel of waiting hours on the line and going to get it ;) Anybody interested?

ReplyDeleteStill going on. As I wrote in a sort of followup article (HERE), several Mizhattanites were able to get in without an invite. It's at their corporate headquarters so get there before 5.
